I have profile builder pro version 1? and it only works on lines I think and as for solid tools I tried but didn't work.

RE: Graphic Performance
qany model can be used in those systems... why would you need a special one?
and can you try using a simple plain style and test?
-
RE: Graphic Performance
are you using the same style in all these models?

RE: 30 x 42 paper size
I was being facetious... I have argued with many as well. And I have been fired because of it on at least one occasion.
I wasn't taking anyone's side...
And we don't know what you know, because you have not shared it in your profile or in this forum. The truth is we don't know you at all, You may well be a 12 year old having fun, but from your manner of speech I highly doubt it... Hopefully you'll rectify that by posting more often and sharing some of your knowledge with the rest of us.

Join Pipes Smoothly?
I have this roll bar that was made in a low poly format. I would like to replace it with higher poly model that joins at the junctions nicely. Anyone know of a plugin that would help?

RE: Skatter
Jiminy Crickets! Don't forget to give us a paint brush tool with it that loads several option proxies. While I'm dreaming I figured... Hey why not.

RE: Substance and Sketchup Workflow
Awesome. that's why I installed Blender, not for this but for my Simulator Mod. Some guy over in that forum made a blender plugin to import and export the models, so I was testing it to replace Max... as I hate Max. next on my list was testing Blender's UV mapping & unwrapping.
Though, in the mean while I found something else... and it's kinda awesome. 3D Coat.

It also does some fantastic "re-topology"...

RE: 30 x 42 paper size
Cursor, the original poster is asking in regards to architecture, which in the US uses E as 36Γ48. And by saying you should always use standard sizes, that standard would of course be relevant to one's profession and location. But... You should always use standard sizes unless it's just something one off. Standards are the bread and butter of drafting and design. It keeps everyone on the same page so to speak.
I've always considered 36x48 to be standard because when printing off the roll you have 36inch wide paper rolls on the printer. This allows you to print D & E with ease by simply rotating your print job.
But, I wasn't going to argue with Nick... He's an architect and you don't argue with architects. I wondered why he and the poster were asking about an odd size. I've never seen 30x42 and thought that was the point of the whole conversation, that it was a custom size.

RE: Does sketchup interface with any game engines?
3DSimEd imports and exports SU models into a variety of racing simulators.

RE: Dimensions: custom arrows & turn off extension lines
All of these things here are available in Layout. except custom ticks. there are some 18 ticks to choose from and the entire dimension group is editable and configurable.

RE: Dimensions: custom arrows & turn off extension lines
extension lines can be turned off... edit one dimension and dropper it to save. create template with saved style. or use a scrapbook. leaders? not so much.

RE: Substance and Sketchup Workflow
Yes, I was overly excited and mistaken. I've been experimenting all weekend, as well as breaking the importer. and... Yes, I think I got lucky on that stone and concrete. They happened to wrap the corners very nicely. My other tests have not had that result. UV's are indeed a wall that must be mounted and climbed before you can have any good result, not only that. but normals don't even seem to read correctly in SD. While this works well on flat surfaces and simple shapes, 90 degree corners and rather simple topography does not do well in most cases. Grass and Dirt hides the imperfections in SU's normal creation.
Now, I'm going to see what Thea's procedural mats and see what can be done with it.
And I'll be damned if I didn't install Blender...

RE: 30 x 42 paper size
Oh I don't use it... unless, it's for some massive house that I would have to go 1/8" on... Because if there's anything contractors hate more than E size... it's 1/8 scale.
I always use D...

RE: 30 x 42 paper size
E is normally considered engineering size... For land surveying, large civil projects etc. You should always use standard sizes. Unless it's something special.

RE: Substance and Sketchup Workflow
I've found that Substance Designer is retarded when it comes to movement... I don't know why these companies cannot let me determine the uses of my mouse and navigation.

Don't know if it's okay to post this link... But here's SketchUp 7

RE: Substance and Sketchup Workflow
Really impressed with them myself... I think I'm going to be a user. And they even allow you to pause payments. They really seem to be of the industry and know what users want.
I'm finding some uvmapping and unwrapping in Designer, but not a full unwrap suite. Between AC3D, 3D Max and Blender... Hmmm... Max is more powerful, but the learning curve is much steeper. AC3D is easy, but more manual. I'm looking now at Blender's mapping.
That being said is seems the procedurality of Substance Designer would negate the need for uvunwrapping anything but the more detailed objects. like people, cars etc. If you want to make something and actual substance... I don't think you would need maps.
P.S.
I posted on their facebook page and they answered back in like a few minutes... That's the kind of company they are.
