There's already a tool to change units 'on the fly' by a simple toolbar button press.
      Toggle Units v2.11 by Matt666

You click the appropriate button to change the SKP's units, you can also change 'accuracy' +/- etc
Thereafter the model's displayed units are as you last set them.
There's also an option to choose which of all of the possible unit toggles go onto the toolbar...

I will definitely check that out. Thanks a lot! πŸ˜„

      I'm not kidding.
I model on the spot with someone always behind me asking for the measurements of "this and that", constantly switching between millimeters, decimal inches, and fraction inches. It would be nice to save the couple of seconds of having to go into the model info and change the units by having them right there.

    • [REQ] A universal length unit display

I'd love to see a little window (either as a separate window or integrated into the toolbar somehow) which display units in millimeters, decimal inches, and fraction inches whenever you draw something.
Anything like this out there? πŸŽ‰

Stunning. Best thing I've seen in a long time. The modeling is just...WOW. Did you use CRF for the close up renders....if so which one?

I hate to say this, but you're going to have to tell me what CRF is. 😳

Been away from modeling/rendering too long. πŸ˜›

I decided to model the Acer Aspire 5820T, but to be honest, I skipped out on one side and the bottom of the laptop (don't tell anyone).
I think I'll finish the model eventually, but for now, here it is. πŸ˜„

      Thanks a lot guys. πŸ˜„
D-space, the bloom in this one was set up using photoshop. It was actually achieved using

      • the method for traditional photoshop bloom (duplicating, blurring and screening the original layer (bloom layer was at about 25 percent opacity)
      • artificial depth of field
      • a raised exposure offset and gamma correction
      • and a vertical grain filter (intensity and contrast very low (grain layer at about 50 percent)
The "traditional photoshop bloom" layer was a small contributor to the bloom effect in this image. I wish I could post the specific settings, but I didn't save them. 😳

      Thanks for the comments. πŸ˜„

Jackson, 50, had been in a coma at the hospital, sources told CNN.

Brian Oxman, a Jackson family attorney, said he was told by brother Randy Jackson that Michael Jackson collapsed at his home in west Los Angeles Thursday morning.

Family members were told of the situation and were either at the hospital or en route, Oxman said.

Fire Capt. Steve Ruda told CNN a 911 call came in from a west Los Angeles residence at 12:21 p.m.

Ruda said Jackson was treated and transferred to the UCLA Medical Center.

Asked specifics of the patient's condition, he said he could not discuss them because of federal privacy laws.

The music icon from Gary, Indiana, is known as the "King of Pop."

Jackson is the seventh of nine children in a well-known musical family.

At the medical center, every entrance to the emergency room was blocked by security guards. Even hospital staffers were not permitted to enter. A few people stood inside the waiting area, some of them crying.

Rest in peace, Michael Jackson: King of Pop. 😞
