    • [Request] Synagogue Entourage

I'm looking for entourage suitable to use to populate interior and exterior renderings of a synagogue that I am designing and modeling.

Specifically, cutout/billboard people that would be approriate for that context.

I'm struggling to turn up anything useful. Can anyone please point me at locations where suitable images can be obtained?

Khai hit it on the head. I too ran networks for years and was in a constant running battle to screen, filter and block not only porn, but a lot of other junk off the 'net. Same for email. No sooner would I get filters in place, then the scammers, spammers and script kiddies would find new ways of getting around them.

The best offense to this kind of junk is to make a personal stance to just stay away from it. That, and keep a good virus and malware scanner running in the background ...

      Cheers.

One of my freelance jobs took me away for 3 days every other week to the offices of a major international company.

I used webmail so that I could still retrieve my email. Then the company decided to block access to webmail for security reasons. I'm no hacker, but it took me less than a minute to get round their first blocks (which were based on using a list to block specific sites.)

Then they got clever, and implemented a system that blocked all webmail, regardless of address. It took me just 10 minutes to get round that one.

So yeah, it is probably true that people who really want to defeat internet security can do. That does not make it a worthless exercise to implement systems that help to cut down accidental or casual access to porn sites by your youngsters.

Strange how people report or interpret things in different ways.

As I understand it, most users of these ISP's will find no difference whatsoever in the service. None.

All that has happened is that the ISP's have made it possible for parents who want to use the facility to implement blocks on content of a certain type.

If you don't want the facility, you just don't use it. That simple.

    • RE: Heat the person not the volume!

Back when I was an Architectural student in the '70's our Environmental Studies tutor told us of a serious effort to deal with this exact issue.

      Microwave the people!

The idea was for a very low energy system to be installed in ceilings that would be designed to warm up the human body just enough to make them comfortable.

I'm not sure if it was a failure to perfect the technology or simply a failure to convince people that this was a good idea that killed the idea (or perhaps that lecture was given on April 1st.)

p.s. I like its soundtrack. could anybody recommend the safe and simple utility to cut(split) mp3 file?

Camtasia Studio works a charm. Not free, but you can download a 30 day demo.

Just capture the video playing, then produce the captured recording as an MP3 to extract just the soundtrack.

Someone posted a video a while ago about a photovoltaic tile that was intended for road surfaces. The video showed the prototype being assembled and driven on as I recall. Can't recall just where I saw it though - may have been here or over on PPB.

Intersting concept - your FEA is also interesting but I suspect that you have missed the point of the comments that have been made. I don't think that the strength of the elements themselves is in question. The issue is very definitely with the fixing. Think about how you can use a claw hammer to lever out nails that are otherwise very strong - something similar to that effect could be a problem for your design.
