RE: Revit to Sketchup: missing geometry

...Revit becomes a real nut cracker.
Ahh, it's good that someone else feels the same as myself!
Perhaps once I've completed the training & online tutorials, it'll make more sense. -
RE: Saving A Workspace
I exported a section of the registry, which partially helped when setting up users PC's.
If I remember on Monday, I'll have a look at the section exported.UPdate:
The section I exported is;-
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\SketchUp7\PreferencesIt doesn't help with toolbars, but will set up the template & image editor.
I use it together with the Preferences.dat file. -
RE: Revit to Sketchup: missing geometry
I've recently tried my first Revit to SKUP, & was quite surprised how well it worked, but it was a very small & simple building - no fancy curves!
kwistenbiebel, how are you getting on with Revit?
I'm a long time ACAD user, sometime SKUP tinkerer & find Revit both simple & complicated at the same time. It's great when you have the families to work with, but murder to edit a commonly used component like a window.
I suppose its just a case of getting over the initial hump of learning...
I miss the direct editing of lines as with ACAD & SKUP. -
RE: Extruding AutoCAD drawings for Google Earth
If you give your lines a thickness in ACAD, they will be imformed with a height in SKUP

RE: Thanks for all you do!
kayjay, well said! My thanks to all of you as well.

RE: It is a BUG
I find that if I stick to keeping SKUP to one monitor, don't add any additional plugins with toolbars, & keep the model in a window, rather than maximised, all is well.
But if I tinker with the layout, or try to spread the palletes to another screen, the layout gets jumbled.
I've also think SKUP gets slower when another screen is added to the mix, but that is another story. -
RE: [Request] Is there a plugin to save/set my icons & palletes
Thanks very much, I'll have a read through it.

[Request] Is there a plugin to save/set my icons & palletes
I install & maintain SKUP at my workplace.
I would like to set up a basic layout of icons & docked palletes for everyone after installing, which then can be updated & saved by the individual user.
My initial thought was to find & extract a section of the registry for the initial setup, but I've been unsuccessful. Can this sort of set-up be achieved by a Ruby script?
My other problem is that we have a two monitor set-up (bliss for CAD drawing).
SKUP doesn't appear to recognise the second monitor, as any palletes or toolbars moved onto the one screen after you close & reopen SKUP.Can a a magic ruby be created?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can come up with any suggestions. -
RE: [STYLE] Torn Paper Artifact
Hi, could you please upload a thumbnail, to give readers an idea of what you are offering?
[Edit] Sorry, I couldn't view it on my PC -
RE: Tropical flora (updated)
Thanks very much, although I won't have much use for using the palms in Scotland!
I'll have to wait for a conservatory project to come along. -
RE: Watercolor line style
Thanks.
I liked your image as well; did you edit the base skup image in an editor? -
RE: Sketch Styles
Dave,
Thanks for the reply.
Perhaps larger line scans be substituted for printing, so you have one style for working on screen, then another which looks very fat on the monitor, but can print out at a decent resolution? -
RE: Sketch Styles
Thanks very much for the styles.
Can anyone advise the best way of exporting to image files? I've not had much luck exporting other pencil styles at a high res - and screen grabs just don't print well at a decent size.
Any advise would be appreciated. -
RE: [Plugin] Three Line Tools (Updated March 9th, 2009)
Thanks very much. The video explanations also help a great deal.
