Thanks for posting this. I've submitted the model and the materials as a bug to be fixed.

It is the dark wood material that is actually causing the problem. Do you know anything about that jpg or how it was created?

      Chris

Yes, you are right. That dark wood texture pic was downloaded from Internet. Then I screetshot part of it to use as surface texture in my model.

    • Structure model of a condo

I spent times making this structural model of my project. Rendered by SU Podium.

The only thing to complaint is the Generate Report which could be ignored if you want to calculate your concrete quantities.

    • Model created by SU 8 can't be open by SU 2013. HELP my work

I have a model which was created by SU 8 Pro. This week I got SU update to 2013 version.

Problem comes that I can't open this file (see attachment) from SU 2013, but SU 8 Pro can open that.

Totally I have another two files in the same case.

Can anyone let me know what part is wrong? I was planning to uninstall SU 8 Pro then use only SU 2013. But now I have to keep both of them.

      Any hint would be appreciated.

    • RE: Double curved faces with different level

Thanks TIG and Pilou for the clue. I would make the paper face then extrude cause it involve more than 10 different level on top face.

    • RE: Double curved faces with different level

I attached the SKP as well. That's what I want it look like. Another designer gave me this model. I just want to re-make by myself. I guess the dumpiest way to do this is draw one line by one line a paper form face then extrude. But I think there is some more convenient way to deal with that?

    • Double curved faces with different level

      hey, everyone.

I am learning to make some complicated model with double curved faces and different level. see picture and model.

And I tried the whole afternoon by using Shape bender and Extrude Tools. Nothing came easy to achieve. Can anyone help to give me a clue how to make it?

Instead of using Smooth/Soften, use Hide on that edge and see if it's different.

Is the edge of that texture image dark? Can you post that texture image?

Hi, Dave. After a zoooooom, i found a little stray line intersecting with two model line. Problem solved. sorry to cause any trouble here.

    • Smooth cause weird shading

      Hi, everyone

I'm just working on a model which involves huge of arc and curves, so smoothing becomes quite frequently used to make surface look good. Problem is after smoothing some weird shading happens while sometimes it doesn't.

See red highlighted area for this strange shading in my attached picture below.

I searched forum and didn't find a better solution. Any help is thankful.
