i dont see the word CatchUp!
nice goin mike... NEaTO!!!
the download in the link posted above does have the update and as TIG said the release notes are not updated yet.. and it installed fine for me
tom.. do u have a recurring problem with the new update as such? can it be reproduced???
oh my! tom... u think its better to wait till the next BETTER update?? anyone else having problems???
besides...the download page... http://sketchup.google.com/gsu6/download.html doesnt seem to have the above mentioned release yet (see the release notes http://sketchup.google.com/gsu6/relnotes.html). i have another workstation PC which is not connected to the internet so hence i cant update it online..
sketchup has some pretty good sketchy styles u could use... to give that hand drawn effect... pretty useful in most cases...
if u need photo realistic render u might want to take a look at podium which works within SU (http://www.suplugins.com).. its not free but cheap and has loads of features.... that even the most novice of users can use... a cpl of sliders to move here and there and click render... and tadaaa... u get refelectionss, bumps, and even lights!!
if u neeed more control over ur materials and lights u could take a look at kerkythea (http://www.kerkythea.net)...
u also have to download the su2kt plugin availabel at the website to export ur SU models into the xml files which KT (kerkythea) reads... u could add lights and even specify the materials within SU (using the su2kt 3.0 only and u have to install the material libraries which are available at the repository to do this) and export and click render. thats it.. one touch render! besides KT renders in both biased and unbiased versions and supports multicores.. oh and its free!
then theres Indigo (http://www.indigorenderer.com) which also has a export plugin... i dunno much bout this render app though... but its free too!
if u can shell out some cash theres maxwell (http://www.maxwellrender.com/) and Vray for SU which works within SU (http://www.asgvis.com)...
well u could also just browse the render forum here in SCF and find out more!
ok.. ive been silenced!
i cannot possibly argue with that....
hee hee!!!

Afloat was a very useful utility that allowed me to 'float' a transparent picture etc over the SketchUp Window. It was great for 'lining up' a model with a photo of a site / plot.
Mike
but wouldnt the photomatch feature do this for u???
please! please! please! develop this cool script!!!
whoa!! thats pretty grooovy.. which plugin was it??
so u update it once and then u can move around th3 whole area in real time?? can we do animations with it too????

i was thinkin of fooling the ppl here!
i got thinking and used Google to search the answer!

well mr. didier.. we live in the MATRIX age and anything is possible in the MATRIX world!
Gai...
it seems like the 'foot' doesnt have thickness.. in KT to correctly use the dielectric glass u gotta use thickness... or else use the thin glass shader.. but then u wont get caustics or dispersion with think glass shader!
so sorry to hear that bruce.. hope noone was hurt!
maybe u could convert that lot into a nice garden!
