Thanks Juan, I have tried re-doing it several times but to no avail. Having read some of Dave R's posts on other discussions I guess I'm trying to run before I can walk with this programme and will have to work through a few more tutorials if I ever find 5 minutes! I'll muddle through exporting JPEGs to Photoshop to create a decent looking page for now I think as time is of the essence but thank you all for your help.

Dave R, I know the Sketchup drawing is ropey, it was only ever intended to present some basic ideas to a potential client, not as a full blown working model with components etc. Then again, I'm self taught on Sketchup too so I'm sure I don't do everything correctly on that too! Any chance you want a pupil?!

      Thanks again everyone,

      Jason

Has the link not worked? I can't upload the Layout file as it is 20mb and the limit is 4mb. Any other suggestions if the link is no good?

      Thanks,

      Jason

I can't upload the Layout file as it is too large but here's a link to it:

      Thanks again.

      Hi Juan,

I've attached the file, thanks very much. As I said before, the file really isn't that complicated, it's just to show the client some options and I could just print these views off for him but I thought I'd try and use it as a learning exercise to get to know Layout.....it ha definitely proved to be one! I suspect having trawled a bit through some discussions on this forum that being new to layout I've done a few things wrong along the way which the software has taken exception to.... but maybe not!

Any help would be very welcome!

      Hi Krisidious,

As far as I can tell the images are on the top layer and have no transparency set on them (although I'm not really sure where to turn this on or off and can find no mention of it in the help manual/online so maybe they are transparent?!) As I said, I'm new to Layout so apologies if I'm being very basic!

I've tried exporting it and also printing it with CutePDF and the result is identical with both.

      Thanks for both your help,

      Jason

    • Exporting as a PDF

Hi, I've only just started using layout after upgrading to the pro version of Sketchup. I've battled for most of the day to put an acceptable couple of pages together for a client, nothing very complicated - just some fitted wardrobes, and now I'm trying to print/export them as a PDF so I can send them to him.

This should be straightforward and I have managed to export it, the problem is that the images on page 2 are not visible in the PDF. Can anyone help, as far as I know I imported the images in exactly the same way, cropped them with a clipping mask just as I did with the ones on page 1, they are there in the Layout file but won't show in the PDF.

      Hopefully,

      Jason
