      .
Watching this 54mb monster download reminded me of the magic of the original SkUps at 1/5th the size. One still faintly feels the magic of that once simple and intuitive original, but it is sadly being buried alive...

Wonder what Brad and the rest of the old gang are up to now? Probably under some gag order...๐Ÿ˜‰

      Oh well,

    • Shadow on a transparent surface

Sorry, I posted this question to a Pixero thread that I found by searching and just noticed it was the Ruby depository and the wrong place to ask (It's all just too techie for me...!;-)

Is there a Ruby that will all allow me to get a translucent surface (like the glass in a window) to receive a shadow from say an overhang? I tried using JS ShadowControl but it only seems to work on opaque surfaces?

      Thx again.

      JS

Not sure if I'm missing somethg, is there a way to get a translucent surface (like the glass in a window) to receive a shadow (using JS ShadowControl)? Or is this for opaque objects? Also, at say 75% translucence (>) should the object be casting a faded shadow? I haven't been able to make that work....

BTW thanks for these tools, especially your Zoom Selected tool, I've always had to ident the object in the Outliner, the use 3 shortcuts, to Edit, Hide the rest of the model, and then zoom extents. When you issued that one it became one step and I thank you ea time I use it.

      Thx again.

    • RE: Clipping plane

Great, that's what it was. We have (had) a nuke power plant off a trans grid about a mile from the job site w/ trans/distribution towers running to a transformer on the construction site. They were only used for a couple of Scenes and then the layer was turned off.

That didn't help, but removing that Xref from the model file completely solved the prob.

Thx again, that was really bugging me....

    • Clipping plane

We're having a prob w/ a model/. A clipping plane appears as we zoom in on a detailed object on a large construction model. The view plane shears the object so that it is hidden forward of the plane and disappears as we zoom closer. The plane seems to be fixed and perpendicular to the view. But the plane shows itself in Orbit also, except only from one side of the object.

Unhide All, Sections Off, Zoom Extents and Zoom Previous don't seem to correct the prob.... Cutting the object to a second window of SkUp w/ a Paste in Place and the prob goes away, so it has somethg to do w/ the file (230mb) or perhaps the Xref'd components -- 16 large files...

I kind of remember this happening b4 on another model or reading abt it on the old forum, but can't remember what is causing it. Any ideas would be appreciated?

      /Dennis
