    • RE: Problems with glass

Thanks! Had a look at that, and made sure that all faces are glass. I've got sunlight passing through now, but there are a couple of problems with reflections (all glass is modelled as a thickness rather than a single plane):

      1. The balcony at the front reflects as a white strip, which I haven't been able to figure out.
      2. When I add a refraction layer, there are some weird reflections going on in the central glazed box. There's a big dark patch at the back, and the tree and furniture don't seem to reflect at all.

      Any suggestions very gratefully received...

    • Problems with glass

      Hello,

We've just got Vray at work, so I'm pretty new to it; so far I've been managing to figure things out, but I'm having problems with glass. It works perfectly in terms of being able to see through it and reflecting, but won't let sunlight through. I've checked that the 'affect shadows' and 'affect alpha' boxes are switched on... I managed to get some glass to render with sunlight shining through, but it's super (mirror like) reflective, even though I didn't up the reflection or refraction on the material. Any suggestions very gratefully received - I need to try to get this finished this week! There's a jpg attached - the dark glass shows the problem with sunlight, the rest is the too reflective version.

      Thanks,

      Imogen
