nice work. looks addictive!!
Addictive is exactly what it is, i designed the levels with Meatboy in mind, it starts off easy and the level of skill increases as each level goes on, you will find yourself repeating a level over and over to pass it, every level is passable tho, i made sure of it, i have clocked up countless hrs play testing it.

Would love to see this on Windows!
We do have a demo working on windows but its not perfected yet, we are testing the best control scheme for gameplay, once its ready for launch i will post it here.
Thanks everyone for the feedback, if you own a windows phone and live in the US you will notice for 2 days starting from the 1st of July I,Marble will be featured on the main app store

A remake of Marble Madness? I alwasy thought why there wouldn't be one for mobile... excellent, if I hadn't thrown away my own phone I'd play that for sure!
Again thanks for your kind words, the entire team were huge fans of the original Marble Madness by Atari, we were inspired to make a new version of the game, there has been many remakes but none with the isometric gameplay of the original which we set out to do when creating I,Marble
And not to worry about throwing your phone away, we will be releasing on all mobile platforms in the near future
Ill submit another gameplay video later this evening, please dont forget to download it, rate it and leave a review, and more importantly enjoy the game

I,Marble a finished game for mobile devices
Hey everyone, sorry for my absence over the past few months, i taught i would share what i have being working on for quite some time. As most of ye already know i wanted to use sketchup to develop a game for mobile devices, over time iv learnt how to optimise and make assets created in SU for game development, using Unitys game engine we have finally released a game and its free on windows phones for now, not available on IOS or Android devices yet but we are working on it, infact we have working demos, i created a facebook page showing off the development of the design process and yes all assets were created in SU. heres a link to the Facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/OctagongamesIMarble?ref_type=bookmark
So what is the game all about?
I,Marble captures the game-play experiences of retro games like marble madness from the 80s but bringing in a new graphical style. Navigate your lost marble trough hidden worlds using portals, navigate your marble through 18 challenging levels in three different worlds. We are Octagon Games. An independent development 4 man team formed to create games for IOS, Android, WP8 and various other platforms, I,Marble was originally an experiment that was only meant to be developed as a get to know each other team project, Josh Blazer (Programmer, Unity game dev), Andrew Brown (Programmer, Unity game dev), Jamie Lewis (sound engineer, sfx) and myself Damien Meade (Art designer, 3d modeller), this is our game I,Marble.
Also here are some development images showing how i developed the assets using sketchup, (These images are rendered)
For windows phone there had to be 3 live tile designs created for users to customise how they prefered the app to appear on screen, here are the 3 tile designs, again these were created in SU and a render to create each asset as clip art for the tiles.
Here follows examples of the 3 worlds created in SU for the game, each word consists of 6 challenging levels. The longest process for me in developing these assets was creating the textures, as you can see the modelling was of simple design but hours went into the texturing... HOURSJungle Jam
Lava World
Future Frenzy
For more images on the development from prototype to what it is now please follow this linkhttps://www.facebook.com/OctagongamesIMarble/photos_stream
And now for a little gameplay, let me explain how it works, the player only needs to tilt the mobile device in the direction he/she wishes the marble to go, From 1 portal at the start to another at the end, that simple, but it gets more challenging as each level is unlocked, but there is a catch, you have only 2 mins to complete each level (Timer counting down at the top), there are 10 coins in each level and you will need 5 coins to unlock the next level, there are also timers to collect, each timer adds 5secs to the count down time, in some cases it is essential to collect timers, other timers will cost you time to collect so choose wisely
Oh almost forgot, there are obstacles along the way
I guess its really not that simple
Anyways check out this vid for gameplay. And finally if you like what you see as our gift to the community, I, Marble is going free to play here for the foreseeable future (really, truly free!) if you haven't had a chance to pick it up on Windows Phone, now would be a great chance. All we ask in return is to take a minute to leave feedback and/or a rating on the game in the Windows Phone Storeβ¦
Thanks to all on the sketchucation forums for your help and I hope you enjoy the game

RE: Adapting to 3ds Max from SketchUp Help
@ridie1389 said:
So, I love SketchUp because of its ease of use, however, I know that it isn't the best at creating meshes, as the screenshot shows. After trying so many different tutorials, guides, and forums to fix this, I haven't found a solution.
On a side note: I'm making models to use with Cryengine, and they need to be as efficient as possible.
So, I've finally decided to switch to 3ds Max for my game creation purposes, everything else I still plan on using Sketchup for though. However, I need some with simple things like separating objects into sections, creating holes for windows or door in the mesh, and just general ease of use. (Or, if you can help me fix my polygon problem otherwise, fantastic!)
So here are the 3D Programs, I currently use:
- Google Sketchup 8
- Meshlab 64-bit
- CryEngine 3.5.4
- MakeHuman
- Daz 3D Studio
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Where is this screenshot, can you show your model and see how i can help, i use sketchup for developing games and it works effectively
