RE: Quads and SketchUp-Best methods?
I too would like to model everything in SU by only using quads, can SU be set to do this or is there a plugin available to use quads instead of tris?

Cheers. It's only at preproduction phase tho, due to the lack of rigging we found another way using sprites, hopefully this will be a success, still going trough the game document with a few others to get the concept off the ground, will add screen shots and hopefully a video of prototype and eventually a link to the free demo, it's getting somewhere at long last

Looks great, I work with apps myself so know how tricky they can be to get going. Good luck, hope to see it through. Will it also be available on iPad?
Cheers Liam, being trying to get this concept off the ground since i started creating it 3yrs ago, unfortunately i ave no experience in programming and relying on others to do that part, its my first time trying app development and i need all the luck i can get, ipad, lol, maybe ipad 4 when ever that comes out

RE: Product design using SketchUp ... REVOLVE!
Believe me Mike when i say iv had ideas in the past i wish i knew how to use SU at the time, but im sure fresh ideas will come on, working on a few projects myself and if it wasnt for SU they would always disappear and end up being invented by someone else, iv often taught if a group of SU users came together im sure projects using SU would become a reality, who knows Mike, im based in Limerick now, Im only a stone throw from you now,

Thanks for asking, I haven't had a chance yet. Still making my way through understanding Blender. And my Thea trial...
Ha iv being trying blender from time to time,, got nowhere, let me know when you get the chance to use shaderlight, im sure you will be impressed, unfortunately in the trial version you cant render animations, but if you would like i could do a test for you also if you look at my blog you will find a short animation i did useing keyframe animation and shaderlight for rendering, its only a quick test, not the best but working on something much better at present

Any joy with shaderlight??

RE: 3D printed Star Lamp
I love it, would like to see more posts like this, fantastic product

RE: How do you render flythroughs and object animations?
Yes it is slow and time consuming but it does render the animations quite well, time again can be hurried by changing the video res output though
-
RE: How do you render flythroughs and object animations?
Shaderlight will do all the above, i have the licenced version and works great, it did have problems before but the fix beta was released last week and works wonders, it works with su_animate and keyframe animation, what more can you ask for, i would like to see it work with SP but thats something they might consider for future releases ( i hope )
