I am trying to carve out windows in my home, but am having trouble doing so. Previously, I have had trouble creating doors, but that was solved in another thread as my walls were not parallel to each other. Since then, I have made my walls parallel, but the windows do not appear.

I have been creating my windows in this fashion:

      1. Draw a rectangle on my surface
      2. Use the Push/Pull tool to push the rectangle through the wall
      3. Result is that a rectangular opening should appear

My result is that the the rectangle gets pushed into the wall, but does not create a hole in the wall. What am I doing incorrectly?

Don't push/pull the rectangle all the way through the wall, push until it lines up with the second face and it will create a hole. Use the inferencing engine of SU to snap to the inner face.

This and the problem you had with the walls are just cases of needing to learn to use the basic tools correctly. Perhaps you should spend some time watching the basic videos and the Knowledge Center.

Great, thanks. I've just been watching Youtube tutorials, but these are much more helpful 😄
