RE: Midway Gardens
I love these kinds of projects. I myself have been working off and on (mostly off ), on a similar one. You can find it here http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=81%26amp;t=25162.
Anyway I applaud your endeavors and just keep at it. Sometimes the lack of information can be a big road block, especially with a building that no longer exists. Sometimes an obscure reference in a book can help tremendously, so check libraries and online university databases, or even browse amazon.com for books on the subject.
Good Luck, I'll be keeping an eye on this one.

Or for the next time say to your architects to send you Su files in V 7 or V8
All versions of Su can export in old format! You could have also Downloaded the free 2014 version and used it as a converter to 2013.

RE: Lumion 4 sneak peak.
Just got my Hands on Lumion 4. WORDS CANNOT DESCRIBE ITS AWESOMENESS!!!

Seems there is now direct importation from an SKP file!
There is, however it does take some time to load. A 30 MB Sketchup File took 10-15min to Load in. Once it was Loaded in there was no problem. SO be warned about importing Large File Sizes, prob Best to split them where possible.

RE: All Ancient Rome models from 3DWarehouse together

Hi to all!
I'm returning for roman projects, and now I want to show my new renders for the Forum Romanum and some adjacent buildings. As you can remember, most of the buildings were made by L.VII.C, some of them are my work. These renders are the first part of the big work - to collect all our models of the ancient Rome center and to present renders and videos for the whole model.
All of you and the others work is absolutely fantastic. I was curious as to what software you are Rendering these scenes and videos in, As I just recently acquired Lumion 4 and was interested in maybe playing around with these Stunning Models.
On a Side note and maybe for future reference when you or others texture the models make sure to texture BOTH faces, a lot of programs completely ignore faces and textures which don't have BOTH sides textured or painted other than default sketchup material.
Again Love Everything in this Topic!

RE: First Job with Maxwell Render
Those look great. You've done a fantastic job, but may I ask why the switch from artlantis to Maxwell?

RE: M.T. "Navena" Diesel Trawler
Man, your Boats are utterly amazing. Have you ever thought of doing warships? A U-boat would be sweet.

RE: Cryengine 3 to import .skp files, there will be free edition
I've never used any Game engine to actually make or render anything so I was wondering how user friendly this CryEngine 3 will be. Can anyone who has used it or the older ones give me any insight? How is the the learning curve, Like Lumion, Twinmotion, 3dsMax?

RE: A few houses exteriors
Those are pretty good. May I ask what program you used to render those? Blender?

RE: Vanishing Edge Pool (Animation)
Nice stuff. How did you do the waterfalls in Lumion? Are they water or did you just modify the Glass texture to look like water? Either way Great job.

RE: Sketchup / Artlantis / Lumion / Octane - el azul estudio

I like the scene although the batman searchlight could be bigger and reflected somewhere in the glazing ! I have never seen the moon in the artlantis heliodon does it exist ? Trying to emulate the moon's lighting could be tricky. How about a bluish white light source from roughly the right area ?
It does exist but its extremely hard to get it to show, due to it having to be the right date for a full moon and then being in your shot. But It does Exist.
Great stuff as usual.

RE: NPR Residential Renderings
Fantastic stuff. I'd love to see some screen shots during the process so I can see how the magic happens.

RE: Beam Trawler "Sea Lady"
That looks amazing. Two questions, A) what did you render it with and B) What program did you use to make those textures?
-
RE: Haven School - late 19th Century Chicago
Great work. Love those turn of the century buildings, shame it was torn down, would have made great lofts.

RE: "2 Ext Update Night and sunny scene"
Very Impressive. Whats the Render Time on those?

RE: Sketchup / Artlantis / Lumion / Octane - el azul estudio
WoW.
How long did that Video take?

RE: Sketchup / Artlantis / Lumion / Octane - el azul estudio
Fantastic work as usual. A few of the pictures seem a bit intense however, just a tad too bright. Is that from post production or is that the render output?
