      Thanks archkiranjith and Sir,

For import with goo scale I have found.

1er check the dimension on cad. example on beam 300 millimetre.
Import to sketchup option , millimetre and preserve origin drawing.

And it is prefect, import direct with the same scale.

This will be the next step.

      Thanks Linea,

You have to do same me, check this forum for sketchup, but for Vray go to http://asgvis.com, it is the official vray for sketchup forum. (all response to your question)

    • Hotel-Office building In Vietnam

      Hi all,

Here is an Hotel-Office Building project in Vietnam. I have passed five full day to draw it. 😮
Cad Drawing > Import to Sketchup. (one hour to find the original scale !!!)

I have done some render try without texture, just like this for the conceptual phase. The client is quite happy with that.

Now I have to render, around 30 different areas, and I have 2 month to do that. ☀

I you have any interior comment don't hesitate.

      Thanks Fred.

    • RE: Better Pc Configuration to use Sketchup

      Thankks for your reply,

I have updated the driver of the Nvidia, and overlock a bit it.

Same for the processor and Mother board Gigabyte GA-EP-35-D64.

I have overlocked the processor increased to 20%.

      And now if work better.

Anyway, if I decide to change, I will follow your configuration.

      Thanks again.

    • RE: Better Pc Configuration to use Sketchup

      Thank to your reply,

I am not an expert, I think also that there could be a processor problem.

When I bought this CPU here in Vietnam, I have specified that I will use 3d software and Vray, but may be they have made a bad combination of materials.

What is the best materials association for you to use Sketchup and Vray ?

      Fred.

    • Better Pc Configuration to use Sketchup

      Hi all,

I have two computer in my office:

The first:( the best on paper)

Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2
2x Intel Pentium III Xeon, 2.66 GHz
      4 go ram
NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT (512 Mo)

      The second:

Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2
Intel Pentium Dual CPUE180 2.00 GHz
      2 go ram
      Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family (128 MB)

As you can see the Second computer is not really make to do 3d work, but it work much better that the first !!!

I do not know why, maybe the Video card (NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT 512 Mo) is not adapted, or something else.

The problem when I use Sketchup with the first computer is that if the scene is heavy (more that 50 mb) the computer work very slowly. Sometime I have to wait 2 or 3 minute to select a geometry.

So Is it a configuration problem ? or Some parameter that I have to change ? Or Is it sketchup ?

The second computer is slow, but I never Have to wait to select something, on the same scene.

      I need your help, Thanks

    • Background and new setting

      Hi all,

after several try to make a nice background with Vray, I gave up...To complicated, and the sample does not match the rendering.
So I have imported a picture behind the scene and here is the result.

Also I have working on the Vray parameter to get a better render.

      I share my parameter here.

This scene is not yet finish, I will send the updated pic later.

      Bye, Fred.

      Thanks Sepo,

It is ok for me to share, and I think that you can apply that to all renderer plug-in.

The faked "IES Effect" is very easy to apply, but very tiring to regulate.

In fact, it is like adding a filter in front of your light. ( use this attached map for filter)

This map must be apply on a circle or a square in front of your spot-light and very important, you must use the same map as transparency map. You must add also a Light inside the spot light. I attach the model here.

After, when you have your effect, if you want more or less intensity, regulate the light, and also the transparency parameter.

I hope that it is useful for you. Bye

    • TV space for two...

Hi, here are a real project that I have stated since 3 days, it is an improvement of a old house in south UK.

I have started by the "TV space" for two as requested by owner.

Just some thing about Vray 1.0. It is so difficult to do nice spot light effect, I have found the way to do IES Faked effect but, I think that it look very faked... And you ?

Is Vray 1.5 is better for that ? I it is the case, I will purchase it.

      Thanks for your comment, Fred.
