will do with the pics. I need the 6' length but have limitef shop space for what I am making.

CNC Router
I've drawn this and re-drawn this so many times, I've given up on all the nuts and bolts. But this is what I'm going with. After adding up all the costs (Excluding the Router because I have a 3.25 HP Porter Cable), I can build this for $2,800.00. It's a custom 2'x6' table. Everything in blue is steel, The gantry will weigh in at about 335 lbs.

CNC Toolkit
Being the cheap guy that I am, I love free programs. Has anyone tried this? Gmax imports Sketchup files. And there is a plugin made just for Gmax called CNC Toolkit. It will create the G code for anything in Gmax (or 3ds Max). Combine that with Gimp for vectoring photos and you have a CNC arsenal. I just down loaded it, but I haven't played with it yet.

And if you notice, now all NEW Netflix customers have to pay more to join. Sad thing isn't it, that the stangle hold is starting.

Yeah, probably. But I thought the question was how to slow down the RPM in strong winds..
Won't rotating the blades so their face normal is perpendicular to the wind reduce the rpm? Or at least prevent the wind from increasing the rpm?
That's what I was talking about if you didn't comprehend meThat is what I was looking for Constant RPM. It's easier to rate the torque power at a set RPM. And control the current flow from a DC generator. Besides at higher RPMs the down wind side of the blade causes air turbulence to the next blade which causes more buffeting. (At least so I have read) lol

A couple of things occur to me. Most importantly, as the two rings move to feather the blades won't the distance between the posts mounting the blades change? There doesn't seem to be any mechanism to allow this movement. Maybe pivot on one of the rods and have the other move in a slot?
On a more engineering note, what you have designed is a mechanical negative-feedback governor. As such, it will have a resonant frequency at which the blades alternately increase and then decrease their feathering. With a bit of luck, the mechanism will have enough friction to damp out this oscillation, but it is something to be wary of as an inadequately damped resonance will build up until it destroys the mechanism!
Steve
The four tabs holding the rings together have bearings (to control alignment)and springs (to allow the rings to spread apart as the veins rotate). I was hoping that the tension of the return spring and the pressure of the four ring springs would dampen any vibration, but that was what I was HOPEING lol. This is a proto type. I don't know of anything like it to try and copy!

RE: Wind generator
actually it forces them apart . The spring forces them back together as it slows it's rpm. This way there is a constant rpm and not a run away...

Wind generator
My dad has been playing with building his own windmill. But neither he nor I could come up with a clutch to slow the blades down in high winds. Everything we have found online is actually a form of a brake (which seems like it would heat up or fail). I drew this up as a concept for a centrifugal method of feathering the blades. Any input, before he starts to try and build something, would be nice.

Nice. I bet you watched that GIF several hundred times?!
Maybe not hundreds lol but my eyes did get bubby after a while!

Bench/Table
Someone posted this... I don't know who, couldn't find it again. But I copied the url before I left town. I thought "That's a neat and an easy build". Well I got home last night and started drawing it up. Looks are deceiving! Finding the pivot points were a pain! My old brain was having a fit trying to remember math from years ago!

Anyway, here is what I came up with, maybe I'll build one this next week just to see...

Looking for someone to do some rendering
Don't know where this should post, but here goes...
I have a product I want to take to market. I have invested a lot of time and hard earned money developing and testing. I learned SU, to cut some corners in drawing plans, etc., but I still need help in rendering. (I’m a slow learner )
The other problem is I don’t have a collection of interior view wall plans in which to place the items and show them off.
At present I have a small shop and can produce limited quantities of the product with the equipment I have. I plan on raising funds to expand, but to do that, I need pictures showing it in various locations and configurations.
I need someone to render and give ideas on how to best display the product. I have a few ideas, but outside input would really help. I have everything drawn in Sketchup, but I haven’t learned how to render into pictures.Could someone give me an idea of how much it would cost to do this, on say a, per pic? Or should I just post in here, and challenge some of you “masters” to come up with some ideas?
I can upload my SU files, if someone is interested.Any help would really be appreciated.

Anyone seen this site? http://e-liquid-recipes.com/
I found these suppliers here in the states:

• high volume cafe/coffee house..
• one of those "i don't know - what do you want to build?" setups
• i want to build thisFrom an ergonomic (and potentially ADA) standpoint, long benches suck for folks with knee and/or hip injuries, since being anywhere other than the end basically means they're trapped in there until everybody else moves.
Then again, cramped and uncomfortable is the in thing for coffee shops these days.
That's so people don't stay too long!!! NEXT CUSTOMER PLEASE!!!!!!!!

RE: [Poll] - engineer this table
One more thing....if you are going to do it in place, DON'T strip the forms to soon!!!! The concrete at that thickness will dry out too fast as it is. Keep it damp (burlap bags etc.)

RE: [Poll] - engineer this table
I assume you are using a mold...
We made some benches similar to this. We used white cement (And acid colored them after). We used fiber reinforced concrete. First we laid in a layer of mud about an inch and a half thick then laid in a layer of stucco expanded mesh which we tamped just into the mud. Then we ran 1/4" rebar longitudinally on 4 " centers. Covered it with a little more mud. Dropped in one more layer expanded mesh, and capped it with mud. We were at 3" total, and it was HEAVY. But, after the acid stain, looked like a granite slab -
RE: Any smokers here? Wanna quit?
This is the one I use (2.5 ohm)....
http://www.myvaporstore.com/SMOKTech_510_Dual_Coil_Tank_Cartomizer_5_Pack_p/510dctc.htm
On my ProVari they last about a week to a week and a half at a power setting of 4. But with this setup, if they get dropped they leak. But, I find I can clean the base, threads, and retighten everything and keep going. Just a hassle at times lol

RE: Corona Renderer
@numerobis said:
A new Alpha build of Corona has been released. Still free for commercial use and now with resume render, distributed rendering and much more. For now there is only a plugin for 3DSmax an an exporter for Blender, but there has been announced a stand alone version of this alpha. So it would be really great if someone would write an exporter or even a plugin for sketchup (http://corona-renderer.com/forum/index.php/topic,1877.0.html)
I have been learning 3dsMax and I notice that the 2014 version has direct Sketchup import. (When did they start that?) I just draw in Sketchup import to 3dmax tweek, and be done
