will this help with slow shadow generation? My larger models slow down massively when I engage shadows

RE: [Plugin] Colors from Style
How about colors from the layer palette? I find myself coloring by layer quite often, it would be nice to transfer those to the model data itself. Thanks for the script!

RE: [Plugin] Sketchup Ivy
extract the rar file (http://www.win-rar.com/) into your Sketchup Plugin folder, located in the Google program files: Both LiveIvy.rb and the directory LiveIvy should be directly in the Plugin folder. Restart sketchup, select the faces you wish the ivy to grow on and access the plugin the the dropdown menu "Plugins" The GUI should appear, click the tab Usage for a full explanation of ...usage.
btw: Pierreden - this is my favorite GUI of any sketchup plugin, bravo

RE: [Plugin] Sketchup Ivy
I like how fast the plugin is already developing, thanks for the hard work.
Any reason Ivy keeps growing on all my unresolved design spots? Maybe a bug -

Is there a reason you do not want to use SketchUp?
I was curious as to what may be out there, and if such an option may better suit me. One of my biggest concerns is an ability to control line-weights among components. Since it is a largely graphic application, I am considering simply using texture images in SKP with my desired weights. . .

Other dynamic component platforms
Is anyone aware of any other applications that allow for a similar dynamic component functionality as found in sketchup? I need only to work in 2d for an upcoming project, and I would like to weigh my options on feature sets. After about an hour of googlesearching, all I could find was autocad dynamic blocks. Can anyone recommend another platform, or perhaps weigh the feature set of SKP's vs the ACAD equivalent? Any leads would be much appreciated!

RE: [Plugin] Zorro2 (beta)
indeed, I'll keep that in mind, zorro has recently been slicing my SU 8 in half - I'll drop it down to 7 when I need to now!

RE: Plugin Request: Hide Bounding Box
it can be visually impeding when making minute adjustments - especially when adjusting negative space, - details at edges become much more apparent - I'm not sure how else to illustrate it, but I use it all the time in other design apps

RE: Plugin Request: Hide Bounding Box
that's disappointing
most major graphics packages have this feature in conjunction with the main tools; using illustrator tonight - it is simply ctrl, (alt-move is copy ) I believe designers see the value of hiding all information except the element in creation or modification. Sketchup is certainly a design tool ..I have been changing the bounding box to the material color as you mentioned, which is a good compromise - possibly something could be made that toggles BoundingBox to selected materials color, or layer color - doesn't work too well with the blinding neon green scale grabbers though

Plugin Request: Hide Bounding Box
I'm looking for a command to hide the bounding box - similar to ctrl-H in photoshop, which hides the blinking marquee selection. At times the bounding box can be visually distracting, and a toggle to turn it on/off would make some moves much easier to make design decisions! Sketchup supports coloring of the bounding box - possibly opacity of this color is hidden in the API?

this is also my "W" tool
any chance for changing units? -
RE: [Plugin] BezierSpline - v2.2a - 22 Apr 21
hi - I had a feature request for the Courbette tool.: can we have an option to specify a uniform division of vertexes over the whole curve while retaining the same control points? or possibly even better, to modify the S value between control points. As far as I have been able to understand, the S value affects the whole curve which causes facets with shallow slopes and over-division with high slopes (see image). Trying to up the S value to compensate for the faceting then simultaneously overpopulates higher slopes with far too many vertexes. This tool is very intuitive and great to work with, however I find myself attempting workarounds to create a more uniform distribution.

my 2nd machine takes FOREVER to start SKP8 now, not sure if it's 1001pro or the 3skeng demo..

RE: [Plugin] Q JS ALIGN TOOLBAR
it was brought up about a week ago
http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=36006
I couldn't get d.bur's suggestion to distribute evenly, so I don't think it's been created yet- I am a huge fan of the adobe style align/distribute box, and I use the OP's mod all the time! Hopefully someone can complete the package sooner or later.remember you can distribute the same object by moving and typing '/#' in the dimension box
on a side note:
d.bur's align script wouldhowever be a fine addition to this toolbar pack, "Align Along Line" for when ortho just can't do it -

RE: [Plugin] VisMap 2 - Improved Layer/Scene Visibility Map
to be more helpful - the html dialog doesn't come up when accessed from the menu, no error messages or anything
edit: upon having some other issues in SKP, I flushed my plugins folder; visMap now works- I will update again if I can narrow down which plugin caused the conflict
