RE: MODEL COPY AND CHANGE TROUBLE
Also, check this little video: http://www.architectionary.com/TutorialsGroupsComponents
Only important thing they forgot is how to un-group or 'un-component'. That's done by rightclick on the group or component and selecting Explode.

RE: Preferences window not showing up
Try this:
- Go to the SU windows-pulldown and click on preferences
- Press Alt+Spacebar
- Press M (for Move)
- Press one of your directional keys
- Now move your mouse (without clicking), the window should stick to your cursor and you can drop it anywhere.
Did that help?

RE: NPR
Nice ones Pete! I think these images'll appeal to both investors and environmentalists, the way the structures seamlessly fit into the surroundings...

RE: Rooftop addition, my first render here
Thanks Solo, wireframe won't really show it so I'll post the original photos.
D-space, I see what you mean. Please C&C on the 100% crops below About the I-clone people, sometimes I prefer them over postpro or rendered PR cutouts, even though they lack realism. Matter of personal taste I suppose...
The reason the images show this much surrounding buildings is that the aim of the images was to convey the architect's feeling that the addition would fit into the roofscape. You know, committees and all...

RE: Me and KT

Rooftop addition, my first render here
Hi all,
these are the first renders I post here.
Please give me the harshest critiques you can dish out! (but click twice to view full please)
The material for the facades of the expansion of this appartment is very similar to this.Rendered in Twilight, postpro Photoshop ofc

RE: Me and KT
Nice renders man! I don't know why, but this is the first time I've seen this thread. The wodka on the first renders is my favorite wodka in the world!

RE: It's a 70's thing...
Very nice and vibrant! I love the wallpaper peeling And the bamboo is gorgeous, did you make that?

RE: HOME 3
I'm gona put my money on 'not renders'. Mostly because I can't imagine anyone adding a light to serve as a cameraflash in a render

RE: Watercolour day and night
Looking good David. Kind of like Majid's technique ( http://www.sketchupartists.org/tutorials/fast-way-to-achieve-a-nice-digital-watercolor-render/ ) but with a little extra. Do you use Fotosketcher for the watercolor?
BTW, don't forget to mask your line-output (last two images on the driveway and grass beside it).Looking forward to seeing more of these!

RE: All along the watchtower
My favorite song in the world! How amazing that I actually find a render dedicated to it
Seeing this image reminds me of a discussion I had with a friend a few years ago. In the end we seemed to agree that the song was mostly about religion, but the term 'watchtower' and the fact that Hendrix covered it during the Vietnam-war probably contributed to people (us included) taking it more literatelly. Somehow the 'there must be some kind of way out of here' leans on The Animals' 'we gotta get out of this place', adding to the Vnam idea... But this is hardly a music-forum, forgive me...
About the render; what renderer did you use? And what lightsources did you use? (obviously not the moon cos the shadows don't really match)
I love it, inspires me to attempt an oldschool B&W render!

RE: [Plugin] Lines to tubes
I love this plugin! It's so incredibly easy to use and all the options I need are included. A+ for ease of use!
Combined with the soapskin bubble plugin it's almost addictiveIt does sometimes crash my sketchup. The progress percentage builds up, slows down, and eventually just stops. A second or third try (saving before starting) usually does the job though.
All in all, pretty much brilliant!

RE: Playing with DOF in Twilight...
No suggestions on the technique I'm afraid. I can only comment that the DOF (imo) does not add to realism in this example. Considering the relatively small aperture (bright circumstances) and wideangle lens that would be used to create this image in real life, pretty much everything in the frame should be in focus. My $0,02...
