RE: My first DC (Dynamic component)

Hey Faruk, its been a while since our work on the wiki! Good to see you again.
Yeah, like, over 2 years! Sad to see the wiki neglected, but it was bound to be rendered useless due to the enormous amount of video tutorials spawned i guess.
Well, back to the subject: you misunderstood. What i wanted to know about scaling wasn't particularly about your model. Say you have a DC with limited scaling handles (like yours), but you want to scale it the good old way (with stretching); how do you temporarily skip over it's "dynamic-ness", if you ever can?

Works fine
Trivial question
How make a "normal scale" of the component?
There is the Shift but it's always Uniform
Must explode all levels ?Oh, and yeah, i'd like to know the answer to that too..

RE: My first DC (Dynamic component)
Great start, Chris.
I wanna get down onto DC's too but once i saw the spreadsheets and fuctions etc... i was overwhelmed. Now i'm convinced to spend my time away building multiple boring households, thanks to you -
RE: [Plugin] Door-Lintel Update + Window-Sill
Thanks Ilya, it worked like a charm. I wonder why it doesn't work from the Plugins menu though.

RE: [Plugin] Door-Lintel Update + Window-Sill
Didier,
Another excellent plugin. What a time saver!
But i have a problem with the window option (door option works flawlessly). It simply does nothing. I tried various "window height" and "sill height" combinations but no success. Do you have any idea what might be the problem? -

RE: Trouble with layers/visibility
Gaeieus is right about always drawing on Layer0 and then moving the entity to another layer only when made into a group or a component. But even if you're a veteran SketchUpper, you'll have to deal with files that have zillions of layers, each with different entities in them which are distributed in various "depth levels". So i guess you could use one of the layer manager ruby plugins. Check out the Ruby Library Depot's dedicated page here. I'd advice C.Grant's "PutOnLayer_bmw.rb" which, when run from the context menu,"puts all primitive and encapsulated geometry on Layer0. Only the top-level components and groups will move to the specified layer".

RE: Component Spray Tool released
Been away from the SU community for a long time now, so yesterday I decided to check if there was any new toys around and saw this one: It definitely looks, and works great!
Good work as usual, Didier...and nice guide too.
