I'm pretty sure this is good news for Mac users. 
Now that Blender has its own GPU path tracer (Cycles) and after seeing recent work by Michalis and the new short "Tears of Steel", I've finally decided to seriously learn Blender. My goal is to be able to create Architectural animations in it. This thread will document this journey. So far, I have downloaded the latest release and installed it. I see a viewport with a small cube in the middle, and I decide to poke around to see what happens.

Final question: If the actual render engine is never installed in my PC, why the AUD 299 "installation fee"? What resides in my PC is just a client, after all. You would get tons more customers without an installation fee.

Danble, Is there any way to test the latency (ping) to the render server before purchasing?
Idea:
Offer your clients this only if they, too, are willing to pay per minute for your work and for those sessions.
I do like the idea of cloud rendering. This would mean I can work from any PC as long as it has broadband.
Maps used to load quite fast... Now they're slow, some squares don't even load and the satellite picture is now cloudy.
Is this Apple's revenge on Samsung/Google? Why do users have to pay for their disagreements? 
And yes, I do use the maps app.
Really nice... Is there any DOF effect in Maxwell? Maybe it will look a bit better by keeping only the house in tight focus, with the foreground grass a bit blurred.

I believe the real news here is the new iPod Touch.
It was in real need of an update after two years.
The camera has gone from 0.3MP to 5MP. Now that's a big upgrade.
Some of us don't need an iPhone, but love iPhone apps.
Nothing extraordinary, really... I'm just happy that 4 companies featured my animations at the same time in the same show, Habitat, the most prestigious real estate development fair in my city (and in my country, according to the show organizers). Here's the video:

Add to the list of annoyances:
Sometimes, when importing a FormFonts model, SketchUp switches to "view extents", turns on shadows and the imported model is in the origin. 
Well, after waiting for so long, I decided to go ahead and click despite the "wait" cursor being active... Turns out SketchUp was waiting for me to click.
