RE: SketchUp 2019 release
I have just started to look at this update stuff that I got, but from what I am reading, I am not sensing a lot of love here. not thrilled at all about the subscription stuff, including the huge jump in $$. for the different levels. I have to do more homework, but I dunno. It maybe time to . . ya know. . .move on.
Feeling a bit down right now. I've been using SU since @last days. I'm not the wizard at it that you guys are, but I didn't need to be. Im going to have to give this some thought. . .
Sketchup...I know it was you..You broke my heart.

RE: X-15 Aircraft
that is really great. Takes me back. I used to draw this over and over as a kid. Joseph Knight I believe was one of the test pilots. (Verify with Professor Google)
Maybe next you'll wanna take on the Glamorous Glennis Bell x-1 Piloted by Yeager.
Got a stick of Beeman's?

RE: The "Duh!" thread (aka the Doh! thread)
Thank you! it's really quite amazing how much of the basic stuff you forget when you don't dealwith it that often.

RE: The "Duh!" thread (aka the Doh! thread)
Dave. . thanks for the response and please excuse the follow up. . . I guess I'm not following, or i didn't make my question clear and I don't use outliiner that much. . .is there a way to save the scene updates so that the windows just stay off? I don't see how Outline does that for me.
Thx,
D

RE: The "Duh!" thread (aka the Doh! thread)
I know I should know this (being a top sketchukator and all--- Yeah, I am having a hard time containing my laughter too. . .)but as I said. .I know I should know this but I don't:
as I go between scenes with sections how can I toggle between them and keep the section plane window off so I dont have to manually turn them off each time? I have always found the scene menu in SU very confusing and conveluted and I can't seem to get this to work as I want. Help please? Thanks.

My last psy said I was the most normal person he knew.
Well, I guess it's what he meant with "Argghhhhhh....".
He was a bit weird sometimes.
But he was so tasty.
But its a good insane! right? magnificent!

I just got a SketchUp newsletter for December without any mention of a new version.
They still do the newsletter? I haven't gotten one of those in ages! I don't remember unsubscribing. Unless it's a different one.

RE: SketchUp 2019 release
Yeah. . .that's the method I have been doing for these types of things, but still it would be nice to just have that option. Seems to me like a little thing. I guess not since it has'nt happened since ever.

For most cases, just making a copy of the parent component, somewhat removed works OK, no need to export, but I know what you mean, that would be a great help. (And I also agree, having the hot key set for "hide rest of model" is essential.)
I do have the short cut of course, but the visibility of nesting components is the issue.

RE: SketchUp 2019 release
The one wish. . and it's just a little wish...that I have been asking for in SU since version 5th Century BC is the ability to edit a nested a component and only have the context of the next component in the tree hierarchy visible rather than the whole model. . .all or nothing. for example to edit a double hung window section-- to work on one frame in the context of the entire window component but not have the entire building model visible. Vous comprenez? or is there a Plugin that can do this ? Otherwise I take my component out of the model. Start a new model and re-insert. Irritating.
This would just be a great thing.

RE: Visual Puns & Puzzles
ok . . ..how about:"
Huge Taxes can enslave us like a big ball and chain and are a pretty much big pile of cr*p?
That seems a bit convoluted, n'est-ce pas?
