I've read some posts elsewhere saying that the quad core is ideal for PS because of how it draws from memory, but I'm a strictly 2D CAD user and my SU modeling isn't THAT intense. So that's cool... I just wanted to be fairly confident that I wasn't going to be shooting myself in the foot with this system. Thanks, remus!

without sounding like a conspiracy theorist i must say it is ironic that recently we have been hearing about all these defective products we import, from toys to clothes. Also recently we are hearing about the downward spiral of our dollar...hmmm. It is also maybe just a coincident that our imports and dependancy on foriegn goods is the number one reason for declining 'greenback'. Me sees another 'Made in america' movement on the horizon.

Here in the US folk like to box other folk into polical affiliations. If you are gay then you are a liberal, if you hunt you are conservative, if you own a prius you are liberal, if you have a hummer you are conservative...etc, etc. The AM radio bands here are riddled with political pundits and religious inforcers, fueling arguments all through the day, selling millions in adverts and getting wealthy in the course of it, to them it's entertainment, to the listeners it's a serious issue that requires debate and conversion of those with a different opinion. No wonder Mc Carthyism worked so well.

i think this is wheres apples success lies, they make good stuff that people like to use at a price that is above average but still affordable. i think people have latched onto the fact that it's well designed and so are willign to fork out a bit extra. wether this market will extend to other things is hard to say, of course.

@ross macintosh said: Lee Valley Tools sell some nice models: http://www.leevalley.com/garden/page.aspx?c=2&cat=2,2160&p=51170 They also have a sharpening kit for Jeff. I tried the sharpening kits, but the edges did not cut it, pun intended.

yea that's much better. Be careful with the details of the pergola. The trellis "2x4" at the long wall you can only get cedar in about 12' lengths so you will have some butt joints to accomplish that long run. Detail a scarf joint at one of the brackets and then stagger the joints so that the joints are not all at the same bracket. Also the larger top member of the brackets seems too heavy for the relative small size of the trellis members. I see why its that size to match with the other ones on the end of the building. You might look into making the trellis slightly different details than the much larger pergola at the end of the building. see attached image for a scarf joint. [image: KxcO_09.jpg]
