A priori, je dirai que même sans *.ifc, il lui faudra un minimum d'organisation pour s'y retrouver
Pour la structure de base (IFC), tu as ça éventuellement,

pour le reste, il faut effectivement attribuer tes class (ifcBeam, IfcWall, ...) aux differents elements autrement tu auras tout en proxy comme dans l'exemple de Patrick
... apres, tout dépend de ce qu'il a besoin et avec quoi il bosse
Sans ifc, tu peux malgré tout quantifier, juste une question d'organisation pour s'y retrouver
tu peux quantifier de base dans SU ... ou alors, tu as ça (qui se fait également sans classification)

Yes, c'est a suivre, ils ont de l'ambition et ils bossent ! ...
et quand on voit ce qu'est devenu Blender et la variété de tout ce qu'on peut faire avec ... de grandes choses sont a venir !
... mais la route est longue avant de pouvoir installer ça a grosse échelle

I made the image in 2D with Autocad (or SU), I don't remember ... and the line was drawn by hand.
To be honest i'm completely newbie with ruby like as i said and i don't know how i am going to be able to write the script (almost like chinese for me at the moment) ... but now i know where to start: D ... again a big thank you TIG.

PS : to answer you about 3D text About the text, i though about using simple text (not 3d) without Leader ... and putting it in a new layer (with bouding rectangle and a line) that will be creating after selecting the objects.
