      Thanks James,

Since the last week, the weather is perfect for this kind of construction (average of minus 10).

      More construction pictures.

    • QUEBEC WINTER CARNAVAL - ICE PALACE

Some of you have already seen these project on the old forum.

Since we have started the construction of the Ice Palace last January 2, I told myself that it might be interesting to show you these new images. I’ll send more pictures once construction will be complete.

The design concept of this site, including the Ice Palace, the construction details of the roofs, kiosks, fences, etc. were realized with Sketchup. I use Sketchup for the development of many of our new projects.

To return to the Ice Palace construction, we will use 270 tons of ice(7000 blocks 75 pounds). We had planned 4 weeks of work to built the ice palace but the temperatures above the freezing point at the beginning of January, have delayed the construction for a week. The entire site must be ready for February 1st, at the Carnaval opening ceremony.

      To be continued

      Thanks Guys,

I had a very nice day, last june 28.
I hope I'm not too late! I'm looking at this forum for the first time since last thursday.

Edson, it may be a little bit colder in Quebec City than in Brazil 😳

Boofredlay, the cake tasted good 😆

      Stu,
I’ll remember that Coen and God are not the same person…!

      Juju,
I have taken a moment to complete my member details. You are right. It's more interesting to know a little more about me.

      Modelhead,
You win!. How you discovered where I live? Is it my English? (My english is not very good but, like my wife say to me each day, I have other qualities)!

      Thank you God,

I was very sad about the Sketchup Pro forum transfer to Google Group.

Since I use Sketchup, I had the pleasure to visit regularly the old forum where I found a lot of information. The Google Group is much less interesting.

Today, I believe that I will find the same pleasure on this forum. Thank you all

    • KERKITHEA EXPORT PROBLEM

I'm working on a new SU project and I want to export this project to Kerkythea to try some rendering.

I dont know why but I'm unable to save the .xlm file. Each time I try to export the SU file with Kerkythea plug-in, the plug-in is unable to create the .xlm file. When I click the save button to export the file, I return directly in SU without exportation file.

I tried to export others SU file in Kerkithea and I dont have any problem ❓ This export problem seem to be only with my first file???? ❓

      Can anyone help ❓

      Thanks

    • RE: Hi All I'm New..but need some help....

      I Farean,

I don't know if this link will help you but I used to have a problem like yours when I tried to use SU on my new computer with Vista and a Nvidia graphics card at home (follow the eight-steps installation instruction). Before following these eight steps I have used a normal upgrade for my graphics card but SU was still freasing.

Thank you all for your comments,

Alan, The "jolly green giant" will be made of an aluminium structure and Lycra fabric. We'll probably put lighting inside its members and body.

Modelhead, I think I’ll call it "Modelheadman"

Ron, thanks for your comments. If you need more info about the Carnival, visit our web site at http://www.carnaval.qc.ca.

      Boofredlay,
How was the chocolate? It was very funny!

    • RE: So what do you think about the SCF?

I'm visiting this forum many times a day and when I'm unable to visit it, it's like I'm missing something, as I wouldn't have been able to have my morning coffee.

My one and only real problem is that english is not my mother language and it's harder for me to participe as I would like to in many interesting topics. However, I read a lot of them and it's incredible the number of time which it helped me to be more productive with SU.

Don't change anything on this forum. It's a jewel.
