    • RE: Buying a new computer?

I'd be interested, I'm always up for a newer box.

I'd add a third 2 T HD and raid. Also a card reader, but that's not a deal breaker.

The GTX 680 specs on the NVida site suggest that it supports 4 monitors, is that 4 independent monitors, or are some mirrored? I currently have a GTX 550Ti, and although I thought it did it does not.

    • RE: Sketchup RGB colour to Photoshop?

I might be mis-understanding what it is you want, but for an example, I just "painted" something with 0003_DeepPink, when I go to edit, it gives me R=255, G=20, B=147, I can use the color picker in PS, and enter these same numbers, and it will result in the same color.

It's not colors to a computer, just numbers.

If your question isn't what I understood it to be just re-phrase it, I'll be happy to help!

Edit: Oh, looks like you need to switch back to RGB, for this to work

    • RE: What actually happened to StruCad?

Thanks for the response Mike. But I will suggest that even before I sign a contract on a job, I like to tell my "future" clients that "I'm looking forward to working with them".

Regardless, of the closing date, it looks, as far as I can tell, like a "done deal". (apology's for all the quotation marks).

Honestly, I hope the deal is closed soon, so we SU users can get a better handle on how it will affect us.

    • RE: What actually happened to StruCad?

What I have a problem with, is that there has been very little response either here or in any other forums from Trimble. One might think they would be interested in promoting a bit of good will, with the users.

    • RE: A new home for SketchUp

Unlike some of you, I only have a handful of models up there. But... I'd like to think that I still own them. And am willing to share any of them. However, it looks like Trimble, now owns the rights. Perhaps I missed it, did Google own the rights prior to this buyout? I'm a photographer, and although I post many pictures on many sites, I still own the rights to those pictures. Just making a sort of connection. Maybe there should be some sort of creative commons sort of license for modelers. Just saying.

And in the same breath, to everyone that I've borrowed from, and all of the awesome ruby writers (the list is too long but tom, fredo, Tig,...)you have my undying gratitude!

    • RE: A new home for SketchUp

Just saw the latest update on this, "By continuing to store non-geolocated models in the 3D Warehouse after the Closing Date you consent to the assignment by Google of its rights and obligations to Trimble" (full text here, http://sketchup.google.com/usernotice.html )

Perhaps I'm not adept at "legalese", but does this mean that Trimble owns the rights to any models that are uploaded to the WH? Suppose they might start charging per download?

    • RE: Complicated sculpture model

Solo, thank's for the "Sculptris", reference. Although I'll probably never us it for my primary work, it's really fun to use! It reminds me of a program from about '96, by Dazzle, maybe. But so much easier!

    • RE: Erase help!

Thanks Dragoon, for asking this, and thanks to TIG, for answering it.

As many times as I've looked at "hidden geo", I'd never noticed the difference in the lines.

    • RE: Error loading file projectsketch loader?

Just a wild guess. Because I might be the least experienced person here. But I think you might be missing a file that "projectsketch" loader needs. I'm only saying this because I got a similar message from "window tools" and it was because I was missing a file it needed.
