Adobe & Maxon, wow! Even if they don't purchase like the author suggests but have a futher developed link between the two programs, that could be a pretty powerful combo.

yeah, it was the greatest moment in US sports history... according to the announcers who most likely do the local monster truck commercials..
Granted, you now know that your calling in life is to create a commercial space program for the masses... yet you can never grow up, and noone wants to listen to a child! What chu talkin' bout Willis?
I wish i could build my own house.
granted: but it was so well formed it was Too Damn Good for you! Holla!
I wish I could plug my head into a computer database to learn things faster, like the matrix.
Granted but it is now illegal to provide ocelots with headphones...
I wish the sketchup forums never changed to google groups.
John, is it true that he has never set foot inside the building before either?
I have two small children and when my son was 3 (a year ago) he saw me using sketchup and asked if he could play that "drawing game" so i just showed him a couple of the tools like the eraser and pencil tool and then how to drop in components. He picked it up very quickly, although most of his "work" seems to be abstract. He does have fun for 30 to 40 min and then is off to other things. Also, at 3 he began playing these nickeloden puzzle games, such as dora, spongebob, jimmy neutron, etc. after putting a couple of these together i noticed that he would open a puzzle and while it was still unworked he would change the background in the puzzle game to the same color as the predominant color of the puzzle... and then he would minimize the game and change the computer's desktop background color to the same color. I was floored, and asked my wife who taught him to do that. She said noone, just something he picked up. It makes me wonder sometimes about people complaining about intuitiveness of the OS's maybe it's our preconceived notion of what it should be that clouds our ability to pick something up.
My daughter who is 18months younger really doesn't gravitate to the computer like my son, she just wants to paint stars with my wacom when she sees photoshop open.... to each their own.
after thought also, i'm not ashamed to say that my son showed me that the eraser tool can be used by clicking and holding down the mouse button and dragging the cursor around to delete what you want... i was just picking individual entities and deleting one at a time.
so, now i get made fun of that i was actually taught about software by a 3 year old.
Excellent work Jeff.
I find it hard to imagine that that work is coming right out of sketchup.
absolutely hands down some of the best arch-viz renders i've seen.
i wish i could hate you for it... but you are too nice of a guy.
solo,
that's impressive as are some of the last contest winners, but what more do we need than fancy architecture?
just kidding.
judging by the look of your model there are no limits on how distorted one can get with the primitives. if this is correct then this contest should be more impressive than i thought. i just didn't get that from reading the text post & looking at the model. still, i don't understand why the no import limits are set on a rendering program, those limits seem more like a modeling program contest?
just asking, not that it's a bad thing again i'm not following with the feeble ole' mind.
no offense but i think Jeff has the step up & be amazing part licked... just do a search on this forum.
i would have to agree with his perspective though, i worry about the outcome looking like a bunch of out of scale tinker toys. it could just be my limited mind getting the better of me though.
respectfully,
Cheffey
I have a 3 & 4 year old. we have the nintendo DS and they love it. my little girl has a game where you can name and raise a little puppy and talk to it over the mic, very cool. they also love Kirby squeak squad, lego star wars & anything mario & peach.
I would recommend a nintendo wii also, you can play all gamecube games on it and you can download all the old nintendo games (for a fee) to play on it as well.
i have an xbox and i don't let my kids play it or see it since most the games for it are not kid friendly.
just my opinion.
This works great, we use this in the office. I'd like to see how the Wiimote & iPhone versions work. This software makes your apple remote more useful in presentations than just a play and pause button.

Just off hand, I'd look at the Sony Cybershot W55.
I've been using a DSC 707 for 4 years now and love it, the W55 has the carl-zeiss lens so nice shots.
You might take a look at http://www.flickr.com/cameras/ to see what people are using and then you can see what the images look like too.
wow, that is amazing stuff. that would make modeling much easier if you had a table screen that you could manipulate your work on. Maybe like a tilted drafting table... Thanks for posting.
yoko ono???
For years i used iTunes just as an organizer, then slowly rolled into buying a few songs.
iTunes now has DRM-free music and it only costs pennies to upgrade your existing songs.
DRM-free is digital rights management free. this will free you up to listen on a lot of other devices.
You will get the song at double the bitrate, no burn limits, sync to an unlimited number of iPods, and iTunes Plus music will play on all iPods, Mac or Windows computers, Apple TVs, and many other digital music players.

sorry to get off on wrong foot kris, i supposed i should've been more clear in the description.
Ross,
I added back a link, i'll say my peace before i'm on my way. It would seem that if one isn't quite sure of something then it would be for the benefit of all in a "community" not to take an accusatory stance. Questioning is one thing...
if you pay for the music that doesn't mean you have to listen to it just on iTunes... i actually use my iPod to listen to music too, is that illegal?
you wouldn't be downloading directly from their service, you would be streaming it from your music library. nevermind, i'll delete this post soon as i figure out how.
good site for saving time
Wii setup link

Ross,
It would be great if you could run google earth & sketchup on there.
