RE: An argument of infinite proportions (pi)
A number isn't just something made up it's the answer to an equation. Under that definition if you take that answer to equations can sometimes be quantified as between a real & imaginary number and infinity then numbers can go on forever. Numbers can be limitless.
You should tell him 2 isn't really 2 and see what he says.
Pi is limitless, Pie is not... especially around guys from the south. -
RE: Halo3
That is some extreme detail on the crab walking. I think we will be seeing that level very soon. The next version of Call of Duty looks incredible and they were saying that anything that keeps them from 60fps they are throwing out. So, I imagine if you don't mind a bit of a slowdown then whatever COD4 looks like you can go a step or two better immediately.

RE: Halo3
I like the 4 player co-op campaign mode though, that has been a lot of fun. I hope that trend continues in other games. The ability to add in a local split screen and play with online friends is awesome.
Looks like MIT pulled one over on Harvard... Halo 3 style. -
RE: Halo3
We played last night from about 10:30 to right at 3am... so i definitely have a hangover. We went all the way through the campaign mode, pretty interesting story and lots of fun.
I have no doubt you guys would be kicking my butt. I've only really gotten into Gears and this is my first Halo game. I'll give you a tip though don't let me drive anything... i drove my friends off into a ravine last night... several times.
Just PM me with your gamertag and I'll send you mine. -
Halo3
Anyone here got a Halo hangover? Just thought surely some of you are gamers.

RE: Blogs?
Modelhead,
I agree with the route you are taking. My experience with doteasy started about 5 years ago and the first couple of years there were server problems a lot, and i complained a lot. They always were very attentive though and since that time have (over the last few years) i've experienced no server problems or interuptions.
I look forward to hearing others experiences. Keep in mind my site is small and doesn't get the traffic i would've hoped.... -
RE: Blogs?
Modelhead,
Just wanted to offer some info on a hosting/domain service that might be worth a look.
Reliable Web Hosting and Domains in Canada - Doteasy
Doteasy offers web hosting, domains, and website solutions. Start your online journey with us for fast, secure, and affordable hosting with expert support
doteasy (www.doteasy.com)
Their basic plan is $25 per year with a lot of features, you can upgrade services from that as well. Also, the same 0$ hosting plan can be purchased in 2 year increments and longer with a larger savings. I typically buy the two-year for $44.00
Good luck with everything.

RE: Office Pranks
Probably shouldn't tell this. We have a prankster that loves to pull jokes on people. He recently had a birthday and we found out from his wife... he had a vasectomy recently as well. Don't ask the conversation.. i wasn't a part of that i just used it as fuel.
So, we photoshopped him up pretty bad.
I took a picture of Bob Barker and had him saying to "Have your office prankster spayed or neutered."
I put his face on Pamela Anderson's body looking down at himself saying "You know this procedure hasn't changed me at all".
I put his face on Wonder woman, the village people, even had the local radio/tv guy reporting that "a local man had lost his game"...
We printed these out on the color plotter at like 36"x48" and put them up everywhere.I thought, ok that's definitely going to cross the line and make him mad as hell and he'll stop some of his pranking.
Well, he thought it was the most hilarious thing even brought the print outs home to show his wife... -
RE: Happy Birthday Gaieus and ypnos1 (Thu Sep 06, 2007)
Wow, two big birthdays.
Hope you both have good ones, and keep us in the loop ypnos. -
RE: What did she say?
i kind of feel sorry for her too, but overall i think we tend to take things way too serious.
it was just a miss teen pageant, not like it was a world leader summit. so, it's okay if she goofs up with it, and i think it's okay to smile at it (in a very harmless way

RE: Politics Forum....
Andy,
you could always drown it out with posting a ton of your beautiful work
I sure hope you stick around...For me, I've learned that even though my point of view may not agree with some people (whether they are out spoken or not) there is always something to learn from them. Even if it's only tolerance.
We each have our own story that has shaped our views, that's what's most interesting. Over time as those come out and I will be able to learn from another person's perspective.
Maybe if you see that you won't ever agree with a person you can just say ok, we'll have to totally disagree on that issue, but you can't just dismiss a human being entirely because you don't agree with their politics...
It's a pretty big world so there are a lot of opposing views out there and I'm assuming it's okay if those are reflected in here. -

RE: Do you leave a note?
Boo, i realize that maybe bad form to pull your leg about this. i have had that happen to me a few times. all of them were eldery people so i kind of just swallowed my anger and went on. also, i don't make much over the poverty level so most people don't want to park next to the clunkers i drive.

RE: Do you leave a note?
just got back from Huntsville, you know those Durango's don't get good gas mileage...

RE: Do you leave a note?
you guys are starting to make me feel bad. it's long been a chattanooga past time to drive down to huntsville in a large suv, park in compact spaces in parking garages, and recklessly open the doors... hmmm... guess we'll have to go back to switching the lettering around on church signs. at least Jay Leno likes that.
