in sketchup i only put different colors to the different faces so i didnt use the viewport in sketchup.i finally embedded the mxm files after i exported the scene to maxwell studio.now i guess thats the wrong approach?

Scaling MXM materials in Maxwell Studio
Hello everyone,
i've worked with the maxwell standalone plugin for sketchup for a while now and got some pretty good results with it. now i updated to the full render suite as maxwell offered me this for half the price and i'm extremly happy with the possibilities this awesome suite offers me (multilight, etc...)
now my question: i've been using mxm files from the webbase with success, but when it comes to scaling them i don't know how that's done. i've read something about UV's but i don't get how that's done. maybe some of you could get me a "scaling mxm textures for dummies"?
I've attached an example. I simply can't figure out how i can get the ground material smaller as it's supposed to be a mosaic tile material.
(don't look at the colors i've chosen here, i just wanted to test materials)

RE: Woodland Drive
wow that snow scene has a fantastic atmosphere
how did you add the snow? is it geometry or some fancy displacement texture?

Carloh - maybe it's intentional to suggest the thickness of those blocks?
possibly...didn't think of that

RE: Woodland Drive
incredible lighting
...one thing though: the wall texture on the third picture leaves a very small piece of the tiling on the left side...moving it a little to the left would look better i think. i guess it would be difficult to build these small parts in reality.

i really like your renderings, but i like them more without the NPR style

And you think that with other 3d apps you do it differenly? They may have all the plugin functions integrated but you still need patience and hard work to make cool stuff, in fact much more patience and hardwork to just learn the UI.
There is nothing wrong in having a simple and friendly interface that is augmented with mostly FREE plugins. Why would it benefit you to have a cluttered UI with all the possible tools and maybe just use 10% of them, instead of having a flexible UI?
Amen!

RE: Mies Maxwell Challenge
wow this one looks stunning. almost can't tell if it's a photo
a little displacement maybe would fit the cigar?

RE: Mies Maxwell Challenge
cool image... a little less roughness in the material of the table maybe would be better in my opinion. at the moment it looks a bit too "foggy".

RE: Interior design
very very nice images. but also in white i don't like the ceiling. it looks more like it belongs in a saloon in an old castle or something like that. I would rather go with a simple white plastered ceiling.

RE: Villa in Southern Sweden
really nice! i keep wondering how you make the images that big. isn't the free version limited to 800x600 px?
edit: just read that it's merged with two rendering...sorry

RE: 2 Fields,2 different moods
my heart always makes a jump when i see that there's a new thread by you!
they're both fantastic in their own way. if i had to buy just one of them i would go for the first, as the perspective shows more the wideness of the countryside. -
RE: NPR LoftHaus 1 Rendering
stating by the location on your profile and that you have clients that far away, your name must be pretty big?! and the quality of your work of course also proves it
i really am impressed!

,sadly the cow-skin pixelates

RE: [WIP] Open Box House
very nice atmosphere...one thing is popping in my eyes: has the texture of the smaller box with the window a different heading as the rest? it seems like the angle is different.
