Howdy from Boulder,
I do not see a bug in our database for this issue. I'll log a bug for you guys.
Take care.
Not late to the party, I've just been lurking on this post and I frequent the bugs forum and Ruby forum from time to time.
Some of you know me I'm Brad on the SketchUp QA team. I've been working on SketchUp since v4. I went through the @Last -> Google acquisition now from Google -> Trimble.
I love the passion this community has for SketchUp. As John said earlier, if there was no reaction we would be worried. The fact people are voicing concern about "our" baby makes me feel good. You care about SketchUp as much as I do!
From the people at Trimble I have met and talked to I can tell you...they are lot like we are, they "get" SketchUp. They know we are passionate about SketchUp. They know our users are passionate about SketchUp. They know our users are not just some people that use SketchUp, it's a community of people who don't want their baby being touched by a stranger.
I excited about the future! I don't know what is going to happen in the future but I'm moving forward with the SketchUp team to Trimble to get this party started.
I can respond to the Construction Line Stipple issue. I have verified the custom line stipple patterns worked in SketchUp 7 and not in SketchUp 8. I'm not sure if the integer value for the Stipple patterns have changed or not. If and when I find out I will respond here. I have logged a bug in database about the stipple problem, thank you.
Thanks for both of your replies on this.
Thomas could you send me the Plugin?
Thank you.
Hello,
I have tried several times to reproduce this issue and can not. I tried Windows 7 64 and 32 bit. I have tried image, documents, folders, shortcuts, in detail view, thumbnail view, tile view. The file moves across the SketchUp work space, SketchUp shows the image as if I were going to place it and then the file is moved into the new directory.
There has to be something I'm missing if others can reproduce it and I can't.
Please let me know what I'm missing?
Thank you.
We have this one logged in our database.
Thanks for the report.
Thanks for the report about the problem with inferencing and faces. We have the problem in our database and are looking to resolve this problem.
Hello,
I haven't determined if its a file size or poly count problem.
My file that is having a problem is:
Size: 43 MB
Edges: 1,508,474
Faces: 51,451
I'm going to try a 3DS export to C:\ and see if that changes anything.
Hey Matte,
I just tried exporting a 43 MB file to *.3DS and got an error at 44% completion. Were you getting an error or did SketchUp crash?
Thank you.
Hello,
Unfortunately what you are seeing is "as designed" for SketchUp 7. This is a change from SketchUp 6 as you have noticed.
From the SketchUp documentation:
@unknownuser said:
Textures are now projected only onto visible faces and faces within grouped entities.
The new functionality for Project Photo is to only project the image onto visible faces. In most cases this is a good thing as there is less clean to do in the model. However in your situation I can see why this would be a problem. The work around for you in your case would be to select the front most geometry and hide it, then do project photo. The results will be as you desired.
I hope this helps.
Since my response to Thom post was deleted too, I'm reposting.
I will log a defect about this.
Thank you.

I'm not even getting a BugSplat. I get a memory error when trying to open the model. Then SketchUp goes bye bye.
I'll look into this.

Hey Everyone,
I'll be at the basecamp and I'm looking forward to meeting you all!
See you there.

Hi Micronair,
Sorry to hear about the problem. I read that you cleaned out the registry so I'm assuming Windows
Can you give us some more information about your machine?

Hey Rob,
Can you give me more information on this problem? I'm not sure I understand what the problem is or what you are trying to do? You are using XREF in AutoCAD of an exported DWG from SketchUp? I searched our database and didn't find any sort of DWG export origin problem. Of course, I'm not sure if that's the problem.
Thank you.
Hi Everyone,
I downloaded the problem models and tried them both on PC and Mac. I was never able to see the problem.
I'll continue to look at the problem and let you know what I find.
Todd, I know. I was testing you, I'm in QA...always testing.
Happy Birthday Todd!
A Ruby spanking for you on this special day.

Hey Chris,
Does this mean I have to answer you questions in two places now?
We are still looking at your DEM problem
