RE: Why vote Obama?
Bob, as I said in an earlier post, the quote from Karl Marx defines Obama's tax plan. Nearly half of the 95% Obama says will benefit from his tax plan don't even pay taxes! This is socialism and I oppose it vehemently.
Pete, I said before how disappointed I am that McCain voted for the bailout. And, yes, his vote does display a socialistic tendency and this why I will not vote for him. After all my huffing and puffing against Obama, I do have significant issues with McCain. However, my general political leanings are more aligned with McCain than Obama.

RE: Time to put this to rest...
Forget the Bradley effect. I'll say it again: I was suggesting that Powell endorsed Obama because of his race. Now, why is that such a hard concept to grasp, huh? There are millions of black voters doing PRECISELY the same thing.
How is this any different that some white voter not voting for Obama because he is black? Aren't they both somewhat racist?

RE: Why vote Obama?
No, no!! Do you know who said "From those according to their ability; to those, according to their need"?

RE: Time to put this to rest...
Say, what's with all the sophomoric little symbols anyway? Just say what you mean.

Boy, that was easy...just dismiss him as a liar and a racist, then: "I win!"

Ron forgive me if indeed i'm wrong here, but for a person that defended himself so adamantly of not being a racist after the scandalous image posting you are very quick to claim the race card now.
Huh? Not following the logic here, Pete. I'm saying it's very, very likely Powell is endorsing Obama because he is black. The reverse Bradley effect.

RE: Why vote Obama?
Here is the of essence Obama's tax plan:
"From each, according to his ability; to each, according to his need."

RE: "Joe the Plumber"...err Samuel is his real name
WOW...cool 3D presentation! I'm not too keen on the music, though.

RE: Time to put this to rest...
Tom, how much of Powell's endorsement do you think is based on race? I mean really..forget what he says. I bet his endorsement is ALL raced based.

RE: "Joe the Plumber"...err Samuel is his real name
Very nice portfolio, Phil. I love the Nvizeon (sp?). It's like the FireFox's PicLens. Wonderful way to display your work. Spinning of your non-architectural work is smart. The last time I carried it, my client sued me specifically BECAUSE I had insurance. The case was eventually dropped, but only after I'd spent my $5,000 deductible.

RE: Palin as President
OK...I guess this thread is about Palin. Maybe someone should start a thread expressing Obama's virtues and why he should be our leader.

RE: "Joe the Plumber"...err Samuel is his real name
Parallel bar, huh? LOL...I draw everything by hand, including CD's. I use SU to explore ideas and make presentations to the client. In the 80's my development partner and I (he was a contractor) build some apartments and over the course of time, sold some, kept some, I bought him out and now have some rental income so I don't necessarily need to rely on architecture. Although, when my current project is finished, I can tell you I will definitely miss the income!
What kind of 3D graphics projects do you do? Are they not architecturally related?
Edit: Boy have I hijacked this thread or WHAT?

How's your health?
Sorry I didn't respond earlier, Pete. Thankfully, my health is great so I'll live to see the revolution. Care to join me?

RE: These are fun...
Yes...I very much enjoyed this show last night. It almost seemed surreal that these two were respectfully joking around like this. A nice little respite from the "battle".

RE: Palin as President
For Christ's Sake, Tom, this is the same crap you post every day. I read enough of page one to know that I'm not going to waste time reading 4 pages of it; no one will.
How about something new? How about you find an article which touts Obama's abilities to lead this great nation onto bigger and better things? Try convincing us he's the guy.

The fact that there are eight threads is because there are multiple issues being discussed relative to politics.
Not really. It's mainly down to you spamming the board with all the anti_McCain or Palin links you can find.
I couldn't care less about the American election, but your spamming of this board has made me wish I could vote so that I'd vote for McCain.
Johnsenior, I don't think Phil is spamming the board with anti-McCain links. I've had some "conversations" with him and don't see it this way and I'm a conservative.

RE: Quiz: Who said this?
I agree, Rick. The Democrats of old were fine. They were respectful of dissent, not intolerant of it. I've mentioned before how I felt about guys like Patrick Moynihan. There has been a marked shift to liberalism, to populism, to appealing to the "disenfranchised" by "taxing the rich". Making them the bogey men.
