      Thank you.

I will have to try this when I get home. The reason being is that apparently little did I know I will need administrator rights to install an extension for Sketchup.

I will get back to you on how it works this evening.

      thank you,

      Hello:

Thank you for your reply. πŸ˜„

I have looked up the user Thomthom and found his page of extentions. Here is the URL I found: http://extensions.sketchup.com/en/user/261/store

I do not see anything that relates to editing text once it has been placed into a model. Am I overlooking it?

As a side note I did not specify but I am using the free version of 2013. I do not know if that matters.

      Thank you again,

    • Text Placement & Editing in Sketchup

      Hello:

I am looking for a way to edit text, either flat or 3D, once it has been placed into the document. It seems illogical to have to delete and replace the text in its entirety each time I need to make a change.

My current work around to getting clear text has been to import a graphic place holder.

My situation is that I am re-creating a room from a museum. In this room there are around 20 wall plaques with flat text on them. I need to be able to place flat text on them or 3D text that is very minimally extruded so that when a user looks at the room they can read the text virtually on the plaque from the front not the sides.

This model is intended to be a demo of our proposed room layout in a real museum.

Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

      thank you,
