Any luck on finding a way to get hatched/patterned shadows???

I generated and printed a template for lines from Style Builder. When I try to import the scanned, generated template file, I get an error message saying "The template failed to load. (Did you alter the UPC code in the template image?). I didn't alter anything. What's up?

Is there a plug in similar to Renderplus Sketchy Shadows to convert shadows into hatched/patterned fills? I'm trying to replicate the look of my old hand drawn shadow fills for preliminary architectural presentations. Here's an example of what I would like to achieve.

I'm looking for sketchy materials (brick and stone) done in a tech pen. Any help?
