Just trying to give depth and order in some document drawing, for clearer reading.

While I enjoy SU and Layout, My my process is not efficient enough or the layout sketchup is not developed enough for this type of drawing, and I find it a timely process.

I have searched the internet looking for the answer, but some times its about using the right words which I may not have used. But I am wondering if any one knows the connection, between how SU images explode in layout. EG, when I vectorise a scene in layout and explode it, then have to ungroup it a few time to get all lines separately, what is the relationship between how they explode and ungroup? What I was hoping to do, was have lines explode in relationship to there layers in sketchup, which would allow me to quickly explode, ungroup and then select a line associated with a lay and change line weights quickly, hence changing all line weights connected? May be I am looking at this process incorrectly? Any advice or input would be great. Thanks, P.

I like your presentation style. Would agree with above, about line weight of hatches to fade a bit, the post production of the drop shadows sings! I am Keen to know how? Was wondering if the furniture like the dining table need half the shadow you put on the walls? Just for instant readability, floor(hatch) light , furniture next depth then walls?? Just my 2bobs worth. I check your web site weekly, waiting for your book! Clearly as you trawl the web, for sketchup the most talked about issue is the layout and its link to the documentation process. Clearly we have 3d developed with numerous programs, but its the printable documentation side which lags, only because we still use printing media! I am sure as we slowly kick the bucket, that print will disappear, but for now we need it! While there are some good updates with the latest layout, it still hasn't bridged the gap between 3d and the paper printer. Or maybe its me who hasn't bridge the gap, in short, looking forward to your book to help with my own work process of the bridging of sketchup and layout to produce printable communication!

Was hoping to export DWG, and import DWG. I have a commercial licences of SU8 pro in which I have been using importing and exporting DWG, I recently purchased(friday) a copy of 2013 edu, as I am currently studying and it does not give me any export options and limited import options? So iI am back on
SU8, and Layout 2013? They seem to mixx o.k.

I am using SU 2013 education and I can not export anything and I have only a few selection to import? Is this a issue with 2013 or is it a part of the new license? My previous education licenses would let me export and import DWGs.

?? I am on a mac book pro, Processor 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Memory 4 GB, while I haven't tried to upgrade to 10.7 or later, and not being technically minded, I was lead to believe that I am unable to upgrade?

I am running on a mac OS X 10.6.8? Sketchup 2013 will not install? Does anyone know if there is a work around for this....for I havent the cash to purchase a new computer?
