Stamp tool alteration

Top-o-the-day-to you.
If you use the stamp tool to imprint an impression into a topographic plan. and at some period later in the process want to change the offset or depth or position of the stamp in the topo, can this be done? or is the web of lines too complicated to accomplish in a efficient method?Or, is it better to start over?
Thanks, Hank -
Hank, the offset cannot be changed later. The elevation (depth) can, especially with simpler stamps: just select all thet's stamped and move it up/down. To a certain extent (within the boundaries of the offset) you can even carefully move it side ways this way.

rhankc, just yesterday I dug up this nugget regarding the stamp tool and found it pretty helpful (thanks Gai).

Hm...
These cross references are the sweetest things to transfer to the other board...Yeah, actually you guys here are the biggest intuitions - I don't really use the terrain tools so every time there's a question like this it's a kind of challenge...
-
Sorry Gai, I'm sure these cause nighmares for you guys moving the posts. I'll keep that in mind when posting until we're all moved over.

Gai and ehaflett,
thanks for the thread.
The main part of the stamp to be modified would be outside of the offset. When a building has to be moved some distance like 3-6 ft. across the site. I havent been able to successfully accomplish this except by starting over. maybe grouping the stamp and then carefully moving it....you can nix the reference to the thread, i read it. and thanks.

Well Gai, for not using the tool, I think you handled it well. i would have considered your line of work a natural usage of the terrain tools, with all excavations you see. Intuitions...is that any thing like a pita?

Never mind Eric - sooner or later we need to transfer everything and updating these references is just a snap ( )

Well, I'm just getting into a project where I'll need to use it, I guess.
Otherwise whatever we measure (survey) out in the field, I usually process through with Didier's cloud script. And a little experience in a tool that one does not often use, has never harmed anyone!

i always keep a virgin version of the terrain in case i have to start over.

Ah yes, that's why you needed help with restitching your terrain once I remember...
?DMayeb that was the "lesson" I believe...

exactly. that thread was pure gold. i learned a LOT from it.

Too bad it's gone (by the wind...)

in case it is needed i have tom's skippy and a hard copy of the main discussions.
