Al,
I'm just rotating this stitch components into place using your new tool.
It is fun to use, but is 0.06 degrees the smallest setting? It might not be enough for a fussy person.Have a nice day,
Eric

I'll take a look at the minimum angle.
I copied this thread to the RPS forum, because I am not sure if SketchUcation would like doing customer support for SketchUp add-on products on the SketchUcation forums. (I was warned not to use the SketchUp Pro forums for customer support of add-on's)

Al,
as far as I am concerned, feel free to help anyone with anything... as a moderator here I give you my thumbs up... although there are bigger fish in this pond... I don't think anyone will have any problems with your telling us about your new software or scripts or rubies or whatever, and feel free to support them... if it becomes very frequent we might even make a room for you...

Thanks Kristoff.
When I first mentioned one of our products, RPS 3D PDF,on the Google Groups forum the post was removed by a moderator. (It was not an advertisement - but rather a request for Beta Testers. Although, clearly my hope was that some SketchUp users would finds it useful and want to purchase it.)
At about the same time some SketchUp users started posting comments, questions, etc. about the same product on the SU Pro forum and I received a Private message from a moderator asking that I not use the SU Pro Forum for customer support for Render Plus products. At that time we set up a separate forum for Render Plus.
However, I suspect that SketchUp users trying out the Render Plus products would prefer to post questions and get responses on the forum they already use.
SketchUp users are invited to use the Render Plus Forums, but if they want to post questions here, I will plan to respond here unless I am advised otherwise.

well I see it as the difference in having software rep. visit you, or you visit him...
I like it a lot more when they come to my office, where myself and all my co workers can grill them from every direction and where they can see how we use their product in action...
I think we all know what kosher is and isn't... I want someone to buy my house plans... that's why my link is on my name... but I'm not here saying BUY NOW!!! BUY HERE!!! SUPER SALE!!!
unless Coen has a problem with it... but he's gone right now... so while the cat is away... lol

A quick question, does it accept millimetres as a measurement?
Is there an option to set the program up to recognise metric, or is it just a matter of entering the distance with the mm proceeding, i.e 6mm?Dylan
-
- If you enter mm (or several other units) into the text box it will convert them properly.
enter 12mm, click up arrow and down arrow (so that it reads and redisplay the current setting) and it displays 0.47244"
If you change you units under Windows/Preferences to mm or cm, then the wizard will increment and display in those units.

I did a test and it might be a limitation of SketchUp that rotations below 0.05 degrees might not work.
I tested it in Ruby and 0.06 seemed to be a limit.
The I used the SketchUp rotate tool and typed a rotation of 0.05 into the VCB and it did not seem to take.

Did I read this right? It's only good for 30days?

The "free trial" is only good for 30 days. After you purchase the product you may use it indefinitely.

in using the script last night, I feel that "Gap" is a bad description in Mirror... I had to keep telling myself, he means half the distance of my mirror, to me Gap means the whole distance between selection... I would also like a midpoint selection ability.
otherwise... looking good... no complaints.
-
Oops - that may be a bug - Gap should mean the whole distance between the original geometry and the new geometry. I will check it out.
(later) Yes, you are right. When I entered a gap of 6', it left 12' between the old objects and the new objects. I will fix it and include it in the next release (today or tomorrow).
What do you mean by a "midpoint selection ability"?

A new version has been posted which fixes the gap problem, and lets users authorize it properly.

a midpoint selection...
when I need to mirror a object or a secletion, I don't readily know the "Gap" between it and it's new oppisite mirror, so the ability to select a midpoint somehwere in space and then have it mirror using it as a center.
thanks for fixing that gap thing so quickly... that's what I call support...
