Hi Martin and welcome (too)
You may even have met a couple of us in BaseCamp last year (Chris - above - was also there )

Hi,
I'm a "newbie" to sketchup. I took my first class today in Digital Lineaments, and it's looking to be very interesting. I just purchased my first Mac, so learning the OS X software and the correlating programs with my new class should be interesting to say the least. I'm sure I'll be back with questions as the semester progresses. lol

Welcome! This is a great place to find answers to questions you have and to find questions you didn't know you had.

Hello people, no questions ...yet! just introducing myself to the forums. I'm using SU since v4.0 but I know that never at the full program capacity so I'm expecting to learn a lot from here.

Hi Javier and welcome.
As an old user, you may in fact show US a couple of tips and tricks!

Hey all!
Im not really new to SU, but I'm new to these boards. Thought I would pop in and say hello. Maybe learn a few things, perhaps teach a few things.

Hi~
I am transfer student from Korea to America ^^
I have an opportunity to learn Sketchup in University.
I never seen this program in Korea
I want to use it well.
So I have some questions ^^
First one, mine is Sketup 6, so what is difference between version 6 and 7 ?
Second, I heard Sketup can import CAD file, so how about MAX file ?If I am good at using this program, it is not a big problem to make my work, it will be much easier ^^
I will keep in touching this site usually ^^
I hope so this site gives me some useful informations ^^ -

First, you will want to download version 7 for free. Overall it is faster and more stable. Both versions will import .dwg or .dxf from AutoCad. Usually you want to bring SketchUp into Max and not the other way, but if you must, simply export from Max as a .3ds and import that into SU.
Hope you do well in your class.
