Can't fill the base of my model
-
hi ive been working on this model and the base disappeared, I did a slice at 0.2 and intersected it ,but it won't stay . ill try and upload the file. thanks Deanla vista palm trees.skp

It could be that your model units are too large. Tiny geometry like 0.2 will break or disappear easily in SketchUp.

Try resetting your model scale.

The model is quite large. You have the palm tree at around 43 KM tall. Modeling with the units set to meters is good for 3D printing but this is probably much larger than it needs to be. That said, there are a lot of "forks" in the bottom edges that create problems for Intersect Faces. I deleted the large face and then started stitching from end point to end point to fill in faces. I did a little cleanup at a few points in order to get faces to form but when I was finished it looked like this.

I ran CleanUp3 to remove the unneeded edges.

There'll be some other cleanup such as internal faces and stray edges to remove. Solid Inspector and Solid Inspector2 along with Solid Solver can help with some of that.

I know it’s huge , i had to keep scaling it to get the chamfer tool to work , the real thing is 63cm. I’ll download SI2 and SS tonight, and cleanup 3. Did i do something wrong? Can i download your cleanup?, thanks Dave

I traced over a photo then extruded and chamfered. Could you save the file so I could down load it

It’s just hard to keep up
, is there a list of the , i dont know, top 25/50/100 extensions to have. how many do you use? -
I managed to clean up the palm trees , and they are printing. The problem was tiny , tiny lines i had to zoom in really deep to find it. Solid inspector helps a lot

I don't have a list that long. Solid Inspector, Solid Inspector2, Solid Solver, Eneroth Solid Tools, Bool Tools2, A bunch of Fredo6's extensions ...
how many do you use?
It depends a great deal on the modeling project. Sometimes I don't use any extensions.
