This car is in the process of a "Restomod" project from another forum, I am rendering the car for the owner.
The LED headlights are reasonably accurate but I need some advice on making these more closely resemble the real item effect.
Any pointers, seeing that IES is off the table?

Probably look a bit better with the lens glass to refract things.

Just fiddle on the light component in a separate file to save you some compute.

Another thing you could try is fake emission mixed with Rayscaper's own light components.

Hi Mike, totally understand the lighting frustration. I tried this Realistic Render for you - not sure if I missed any details

@mike-amos - I would follow Rich's advice and model the lens glass on top of it.

For the headlights, it seems like they're cones. Or is how you modeled them another variant?

Ta mate, great news and better when I find some automotive ies files. I am using colour as an emitter and point/spot lights which does not work tbh.

Might be better with auto exposure deselected.
