A Shaving Mirror
-
This is a model of a shaving mirror my father made probably 70 or so years ago. I found it in a box of stuff the other day so I decided to give it a go. I should complete the wiring and a few other details, most of which wouldn't ever be seen.

So the evil genius designs make a lot more sense now!
It's a wonderful memento and one of a kind too.
What is the brown (plastic?) block for?
-
Maybe it does explain some things.
The plastic block is the receptacle for pugging in an extra razor.
-
It is a very fine piece, the things we end up with. I have two of my grandfathers straight razors and a carriage clock I have no idea how I came into possession of. I tried the straight razor once for curiosity but, never again.

Amused by simple things before my coffee kicks in. The environment image is inverted in the concave mirror and rights itself when you get inside the focal point just as in reality.

You made the mirror concave....that's flexing
-
@Rich-O-Brien LOL! One side is flat and the other concave as on the real mirror. I was too lazy to set up to measure the exact curvature bit it's pretty close.
