Plugins to add random textures to random components?
-
Hi all
Iโm looking for a way to create a trustworthy looking brick wall.
I have modelled a brick wall using several components, and Iโm now looking for a way to texture it.
I have found some random tools, that lets me select a random selection of already selected components, and then manually select materials to the selected components.
What could be nice for this, would be a plugin that
- letโs me select 3-10 different materials
- assigns the material in a random order
- to the selected components
Or there might be an even better way to achieve what Iโm looking for?
Best regards

You could create a bunch of brick textures if you want but I would skip making the brick components and then use a texture made from a photo of a large wall. This is from one of my brick textures. It's quite a bit larger than I show but I can pick out different sections of it as needed. Can't get any more "trustworthy" than that.

Hi dave
i totally agree - using a texture, gives the most "trustworthy" realistic result.
the challenge is, that i'm experimenting with different kinds of brick details, so i don't think i can use a texture, as i normally would do.

If you want to swap out textures you can try MatSim by fredo
