          I'm about finished making the belt crown over the headstaock pulley. It's still flat around the big wheel, though. One of those details no one will likely ever see. πŸ˜‰

            maybe check out the mechanics of an old Singer treadle sewing machine. the ergonomics of that machine were pretty.

                All the parts are there. I just need to postion the crank and the pitman in the correct orientation. No big deal. A lot easier than timing a steam engine which I've done in several sketchUp models.

                        Here I've linked the treadle (although I haven't modeled the leather cord connecting the treadle to the pitman yet. I also made the belt conform to the crowned headstock pulley while it's still flat around the big wheel.
