Thomthom, please implement subdivision toggling with a SINGLE shortcut,
toggling with buttons is very painful.
And of course, the toggling should work while staying in context (in form of overlayed cage)

The overlay cage, like in Artisan or Blender, is a long requested feature. I strongly support it too! It would be extremely handy.

I think the reason the toggling is still absent is SU in general simply can't handle stable and instant.

As I said, the subdivision toggle button is there. It is stable AND it is instant. I don't know what else you mean. You need to be more precise.
