Make Ortho Views?
-
Hi All
Im after a quick tool that can turn models into ortho views that i can export out into AutoCAD. I have seen there used to be this plugin seen in this link http://www.smustard.com/script/MakeOrthoViews. Does anyone know what happened to this?
i know i can do the manually but Im trying to get quicker with my workflow. It would be great if this plugin is still around or if some one can creat a new one maybe?
thanks

The author has withdrawn that plugin so it's no longer available. I can't say that I've seen another one that does the same thing but you might have a look through the PluginStore here and the Extension Warehouse.

Hi there that's unfortunate
i have done a lot of looking for this plugin so i am gutted it has been redrawn, i have also email Smustard also. How easy would it be to write a plug in for this?

I'm not certain of why the author withdrew it but it is his to do with as he sees fit.
I don't know a lot about writing Ruby code but you could probably do it. Personally I prefer to export CAD files from LayOut and it would be easy enough to create a template in SketchUp with scenes for the desired ortho views and a template in LayOut to use for the scenes so everything is set up automatically. (I'd find that easier than writing a script, too.

It's worth noting the following which is copied from the Extension Warehouse page for the extension.
