Put all info of the group in a tag
-
Hello everybody ,
have a qeustion is there a way or a plugin to put everything in a group in a tag,
what i mean if you drawing a surface in a (wrong ) tag example tag 2 and after that you make a group from it .and you put that group in a tag 1 for example than the surface in the group is still in tag 2 ( for example ) is there a way to force the surface als in tag 1 ?
so the group himself is in tag 1 but the surface in that group is still in tag 2 .of course you need to draw direcht in the right tag , but sometimes it happend
please if you dont understand please ask .
thnx for you support and answers .
best regards,

What you are asking makes it sound as if you don't have a clear idea of how to use tags correctly. Untagged should always be left as active. All faces and edges should be kept untagged. Only objects (groups, components, labels, screen text, and dimensions) should be given other tags. (Nothing is put "in a tag". Tags are given to objects.)
TIG wrote a plugin some years ago that you could use to correct your model. It will go through and make all edges and faces untagged. It's called Default Layer Geometry and despite the name, it works for tags, too.
This "rule" about leaving Untagged active at all times and leaving all edges and faces untagged is the same as for older versions of SketchUp which used the term Layers.

Dave_R has beaten me to it...
He explains your mistake very clearly...It is bad practice to assign non-default Tags [aka Layers in older versions] to geometry - like edges and faces - so always assign Untagged [or Layer0] for those.
Tags/Layers should only be used for 'containers' like groups/component-instances - and perhaps text/dims etc...There are several plugins in the PluginStore that automate this for you, should you have mis-assigned things... some work on all selected containers etc [look at LayerWatcher and Default-Layer Geom...]
It's easy enough to fix things manually - at least for small...
Edit the group/component that contains the problem, Select the problem items, in Entity Info use the Tag/Layer dropdown menu to change those items' assigned tag/layer... -
