      Mike,

I admire your determination to master rendering. Wish I could do that.

Very nice model. I really like the wrinkles on the sofa, very realistic. Well done!!

I don't think you have that far to go.

Once the render program makes sense, you realize it's the set up time and waiting for test results that is the hardest part.

No, I gave up on ever being able to render a long time ago. It's simply beyond me. Not enuf active brain cells.

Thanks folks, Steve, your sketchup images/exports are bloody amazing so who needs rendering when you can achieve what you do. πŸ‘Š πŸ‘

I have changed the backplate/hdri and will keep going with light and material tweaks.

Actually I probably have the perfect setup for rendering. I've built a backup computer that is a perfect copy of my main computer (just different RAM). So I could 'cook' the render on it while still using my main computer.

Of course, that will never happen. Oh well.

OK, the whole scene got too complicate so I reset a bunch of stuff now I am moving forward a bit again.

Missing background and translucent materials that should be opaque.

Not sure what is going on with the woman's face, but the rest looks great!

There is some "noise" (graininess) so you should let the render go longer next time.

                    Still, big leap forward! πŸ‘

Ta mate, the face and a shirt became partially transparent for some reason that I do not get. I am resetting the mat values and tracking down an issue with hdri etc. slowly slowly getting there.
