Sectioncutface
-
Hi,
I found sectioncutface in a search and am thinking it could be useful to me in a current task. I see it runs best on a later platform and the developer recommends contacting him for a version to run on SU prior to 2014.The forum, however, doesn't allow me to PM anyone...
Does anyone perchance have a version of this routine that would run on SU 8 Pro...?
I know it's a longshot, but....
thanks,
Stuart

The current version of SCF will probably still work acceptably with SketchUp v8.
However, you must realize that anything before v2017 is no longer supported by Trimble or me.
Those earlier SketchUp versions also have lost support for various external processes, like EWH...
Why can't you upgrade your SketchUp to v2017 ?But why not install the latest SCF version and test it on a simple model...
I don't even have v8 on this PC to test it.
I could probably dig out a very old version of SCF from an archive - but it'd be very simplistic compared to later versions... -
I happen to have SU8 on this one so tested it for you Tig, unfortunately it throws a Load Error.

ahh...
fair enough...
(I don't explicitly recall the reason why it was challenging to shift to the latest version of SU, but it was... I am an infrequent user of the program, but occasionally it gives me the opportunity to see what the architect is trying or failing, to do... I returned to SU8, where I kind of know the plumbing, sort of..)

@Box: maybe you should try another river beside the Nil...

Do you have the latest SCF = v6.2 ?
It has a hack to allow < v2014 to run ??
The error with 'join' reports in line #64, but there's nothing like that in that line ???

I assume you are talking to me Tig.
I downloaded the .rbz from the extension store then installed it in a very recent install of SU8 using the Install extension in preferences. Restarted and got that error.
I'm now about two hours away from that PC and won't be back to it for probably a week. -
Thanks anyway...
It's the latest version - I can't see where the error arises...
Maybe I'll have to dig out a copy of v8...
Although it'd be easier for the OP to update to v2017
