-
Cool project!
-
Thank you Bryan.
A little more progress. Tailstock isn't finished yet and I need the hand wheel for the tool rest.
-
I can feel the wieght of that piece it looks very authentic and believable
-
-
Only a little more progress. Hand wheels, reworking the tail stock casting and a bunch of small parts left to do.
-
Very nice indeed.
-
Looking great!
-
-
Nice!
-
Thank you Bryan.
Thanks to Aaron and his live stream modeling, I found an engine to power it with. This one actually might be overkill for just a lathe, though.
-
That looks cool.
-
Very impressive engine.

Hello Dave,
i like your lathe and steam engine. The steam engine seams to be a little bit oversized for your lathe.
In former days they had spezial models to fit the needs of small workshops. Here an example hanging on a wall:I found the drawing some time ago in the internet and started a sketchup drawing. As you can see still wisp (work in slow Progress).
To build a live steam model you find a similar engine here:

After some colour/material adjustments i made a quick twilight render.I hope you like the result.

Looks like a good rendering. It isn't my model of the engine, though.must be one made by someone else.
