      lets say I have thousands of trees (it can be any object). is there any way to make every tree a component on its own instead of making them one by one?

        You might have a look at Make Unique Selected Components.

            I think your post wasn't very clear. Are you saying you have a thousand trees that are all loose geometry and you want to convert each one to a component?

              If they are 'groups' a simple Ruby script could convert them into components...

              BUT at this point, please explain what you want to achieve, very clearly...
