I'm having accuracy problems when mirroring groups of objects. I have a series of roof joists at a 10:12 angle, after copying and mirroring, the newly mirrored group doesn't match the original angles.
I've checked to make sure the original is properly aligned with the axis. Any one having similar issues?

Not here. What method are you using? When You "Flip along" a group, the flip is according the group's axis not the model axis. So maybe the group axis is not accurately aligned along the horizontal axis you wish to use.

Perhaps you could share the SKP file? I can think of several reasons why you might get the wrong angle. As pbacot asked, what method are you using to mirror the rafters? How you do it will be important.

Hi, I got the rafters to mirror properly but the low roof intersections are still not meeting on the flip-along object. I'm sending the file in hopes you may solve this.
Also, how can you determine the axis of a group for the flip-along?
            Thanks

I think you missed attaching the file. Or are you sending it via private message?

Dam flippin' Flip. I can never tell which way the "flip" will go, always takes 3 flips to get right! Flippin' hell....lol. I like -1 scaling.

It doesn't take that much to sort out which direction the flip action should go.

To get accurate help, you'll need to specify how exactly you are 'mirroring'...

                    Are you scaling by -1?
                    Using 'Flip along axis'?
Using a script like Tig's 'Mirror'?

Maybe it's my raging dyslexia...but, It usually takes me 3 tries to get it right, also πŸ˜› +
(I'm an old autocad guy, so Tig's mirror is my go-to method.)

This is my first attempt at forum stuff, I thought i attached it but obviously didn't go.
I uploaded it...let me try again. If you don't get it maybe direct me to the "How to attach a file-for dummies" page.
                      Thx
