πŸ‘ πŸ‘ I am happy about this contribution - in every facet of every participant. It is a living proof of how open, constructive, helpful and respectfully this forum deals with each other, despite minor misunderstandings here and there. A great place because the question about SCF's future has been asked in another post. So thanks to all!

@ Charles - how did you make this helix cork screw part? and btw - I love your detailed view onto an everyday object in itself πŸ‘

HornOxx , Really appreciate your positive comments about this thread in general.

On another note.... How did I make the corkscrew part.... Started by creating a helix line with the "Follow Me Helix" plugin. Did some minor adjustment on the helix with the scale tool ( compressing , stretching ) so it best matched the patent drawing I was working from. Drew a circle on the end of the helix, making sure it was square to the last segment of the helix and then ran " Follow Me" tool. Created the point and the rectangular section for the hinge end with "Vertex Tools". Pretty much got real lucky as it went pretty smooth for something I haven't done in a long time.

baz, Good show ! Really like the different view point. Can relate to your comment about HDRI's. Looks like you may have used one of the studio setups from the SKetchUcation store. Their great but still trying to wrap my brain around "best practices" with them.
chedda, Your welcome. As usual your image "rocks".

... sorry - I couldn't resist to appreciate this beautiful model with a rendertest too πŸ˜„
For years now, exactly this opener has been somewhere in the back of my drawer and I haven't even noticed that there's a blade in it as well ...

I am trying to learn how to use the SimLab Composer render engine.
                                Wine Opener_189.png
I think it is a little too dark and I was aiming for some shadows.

ntxdave, doesn't look to dark on my screen πŸ˜† . Seriously good effort if your just learning a new render engine. Don't know spit about SimLab so can't give any bad advice πŸ˜‰ . You do have some very soft shadows going on, seems as if the lighting is just real "soft".

Did some more testing with SimLab Composer 8.2 and here is a movie I created with the Wine Opener model.

                                    Still learning..........
