Sketchfab Uploader in 2017
-
The dialog box for the Sketchfab Uploader does not work correctly in 2017. I have seen this same problem with other facilities in 2017. Here is a screen shot of what shows up in 2017 and the is no way to expand it to make it work in 2017. Works fine in 2016.

seems to have worked on my Mac...

It works fine in SU2017 on Windows 7.
Open the Ruby Console before trying to run Sketchfab Uploader. Does it throw any messages?
Did you install it fresh from the Extension Warehouse or copy it from your SU2016 installation?
-
I launched the Ruby Console and then clicked on the Sketchfab Uploader link and did not see any error messages. I am running Windows 10.
Remember, this is the same problem that occurred with the SketchUcation Tools tool when 2017 was first launched. See this thread SketchUcation Tools
I think Rich resolved that one by changing the parameters for the height of the web dialog.

Hi All,
A fix is underway (uploading it today for approval). In case you are interested Ruby developers, here's the problem:
I set the dialog width to be fixed by specifying min_width and max_width at the same value. That worked in the past but now in 2017 SU doesn't open the dialog. I changed it to only specify min_width now.
Cheers,

Thanks Alex. Looking forward to the update. I assume you will post when the new one is available.

Will do.

Although my first upload (and only so far) is somewhat of a mess, I am optimistic about future ones. One thing I would really love would be if I could upload a model with Fredo's Animator plugin and get it to work in Sketchfab. It would also be neat if you could upload an skp file.
-
Sketchfab only supports animations in FBX, Blender, and glTF formats at the moment, although you could hack together a simple animation with the Timeframe feature: https://help.sketchfab.com/hc/en-us/articles/203058018-Animations#timeframe
.SKP support isn't on the short-term roadmap, but maybe one day

You probably need to give Alex some time to make the updates. He's also got his own job to attend to.

Dave I only asked because had said it would updated yesterday. I am not trying to bug him (or anyone else for that matter)

Thanks, guys. I have submitted the new version for review. Unfortunately the review may take a week or so. EW will prompt for an update as soon as the new version is there. In the meantime you can actually get the rbz file from my GitHub page (link is on my site).

DUH - I could not find the link on your site to your GitHub page. I also tried searching for your name and Sketchfab on GitHub but could not find your plugin.

Typed my last message on the phone, so I couldn't add the link. Here it is:
https://github.com/alexschreyer/SketchFab-Uploader-Plugin-for-SketchUpJust download the 2-3 version and give it a try. Let me know if you run into issues.

Thanks Alex
Yes, I got it installed and uploaded a really silly model just to test the plugin. The model got uploaded but some of the model has the wrong color. The model is really pretty simple and only has one color. However if you look at the model on Sketchfab only part of it is yellow. The rest is black.
Here is the link to the model 2017 Test Model
I am also attaching the SketchUp model so you can take a look at it and give me some feedback about why it did not work properly (at least as I expected).

Seems your car wash works like a charm inside SketchFab!
-
Thanks Pilou
I wish I knew why the other one did not come out right. I tried another piece of car was equipment but, to me, I have not been able to get the metal to look the way I wanted so I deleted it. Still trying to learn how to manage the material look better.

Okay... the 2.3 version is now live on the EW and ES. Just hit "update". @nxtdave, you may still want to re-update it from the EW becasue then it will be considered "signed".
Regarding the materials and faces: Please check out my blog post here: https://blog.sketchfab.com/getting-your-sketchup-models-to-sketchfab-the-right-way/
There are some things you may need to do with materials before uploading. Sketchfab has a really powerful material and scene editor, but SketchUp's ability to have two materials assigned to a single face sometimes messes things up.
